Pyaar Mein Twist Parts 4 and 5

Kripa sat back in her seat, crossing her arms over her chest. She stared out the window, trying to avoid looking at Angad. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea, after all.

"You know you can't ignore me forever," he drawled. Kripa didn't acknowledge that he had said anything. Angad sighed in frustration. "Who died and made you queen grumpy?" he asked. Kripa glared at him.

"Maybe I just don't want to talk to you, Angad," she spat. "Your charming personality isn't going to make me feel any better right now, so it would be appreciated if you would just shut up," she added.

"Awww… did you and ickle Prithvi get in a fight?" he asked mockingly. Kripa took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down.

"Just leave me alone," she whispered. Angad raised an eyebrow at her strange behavior, but respected her wishes and didn't say anything else.

'What's wrong with her? Usually she jumps at the chance to argue with me… hmm… did she actually care for Prithvi?' he wondered. He frowned, clearing his thoughts. Why should he care about what's bothering her anyway? It's not like it mattered to him.

Kripa watched as rain started pouring down, the pathway to the school starting to flood.

Somebody pushed passed Kripa and Kripa, caught off guard, was thrown forward onto Angad's lap. Angad was sitting on a bench waiting for Kripa to catch up to him. She looked up at him and groaned. He just smirked at her.

"A little eager, aren't we?" he asked cockily, raising an eyebrow suggestively. Kripa quickly jumped off of him, heading for the door.

"Don't hold your breath, Angad."

"Now, now, dearest… is that any way to talk to your boyfriend?" he chastised. Kripa cringed. She really hated how he reminded her of that every second… it gave her the urge to strangle him… an urge that it took all of her self control to suppress.

"Why, of course not, honey. I'm sorry," she replied sarcastically. Angad tended to bring out the worst in her. Kripa opened the door of the school and bolted in not waiting for Angad. She did not want to get soaked. She stopped in the entrance hall, waiting for him to catch up. He ran through the door a few minutes later, his brown locks sticking to his forehead, his clothes soaking. He grabbed her hand and headed for the entrance hall. He dragged her along behind him, oblivious to the whispers of the people they passed.

"Slow down! You're hurting me!" Kripa hissed. He slowed his pace, but did not relinquish his grip on her hand. They got in the canteen and he hastily let go of her hand. She walked over to her usual Table, massaging her bruised hand on the way. Honestly, he didn't have to grip it that hard.

"Kripa?" Alliyah said questioningly. Kripa sat beside her friend.

"Hey, Alliyah," she replied.

"Kripa, what's going on with you and Angad?" she asked.

'Crap… I totally forgot about how Alliyah and Josh would react to this!' she thought.

"Well… we're dating, Alliyah," she said calmly, as if it were the most obvious and right thing in the world. Alliyah's eyes widened.

"You're dating that idiot?" she exclaimed. Kripa nodded. "Kripa, do you not remember what happened last year? How horrible he was? How horrible he still is?" she demanded.

"Alliyah, please, don't be angry with me… I have my reasons for dating him. He's sweet, caring, and he's really changed…," Kripa said, trying to convince Alliyah. She felt a feeling of dj vu… hadn't she said this before? Alliyah eyed her friend skeptically. Finally, she sighed, giving in.

"If it makes you happy, Kripa. I'm just worried about you, you know that. I don't want you to just be another girlfriend that he drops after 2 weeks. I don't want him to break your heart," Alliyah told her. Kripa smiled at her.

"Thanks, Alliyah, and don't worry about me. Now, you want to help me convince Josh to see things from my point of view?" Kripa asked quickly. Alliyah rolled her eyes.

"Good luck with that," she said. Kripa was thinking along the same lines. No doubt Josh would be angry for weeks… she really didn't feel like telling him tonight. She just hoped that she got the chance to break it to him before Prithvi did. She would make sure to tell him first thing tomorrow morning. She got the feeling that someone was watching her and her eyes automatically shifted over to the Angad's Table. Her chocolate orbs locked with stormy gray. Angad just smirked before looking away. Kripa huffed. Stupid Angad.

"So, Krips, how was your summer?" Josh asked. Kripa tried hard not to yell at him for calling her 'Krips'. Instead, she just answered the question.

"Great," she replied, putting on a fake smile. Josh seemed to see through her act, but she could tell that Alliyah didn't believe her for a second. Pushing that thought aside, her and Josh started talking about their summers.

"I know Prithvi had a great summer," Josh said jokingly, elbowing Prithvi in the arm. Prithvi smiled slightly, thinking back to his time at Josh's house. Kripa concealed her pain well, not letting anyone see that this was bothering her.

"I bet he did," she responded. Prithvi looked at her questioningly, and she simply smiled in return.

"Yeah…," he said.

"How was Switzerland?" Josh asked her. Kripa sighed blissfully.

"It was… wonderful. I had a great time skiing and just spending some time with my parents… I hardly ever see them anymore," she told him. He smiled and nodded.

"That's great, Kripa," he replied. Kripa could tell he wasn't listening to a word she said. She had gotten used to this, though. She supposed it was her punishment for having two boys as best friends.

The teachers went over rules in the canteen and everybody was now leaving to their dorm rooms. Kripa was heading towards hers, however, when her wonderful 'boyfriend' started walking with her.

"Hello, love. Enjoy the lecture?" he asked sarcastically as he grabbed her hand. Kripa frowned at him.

"Of course, Angad dear, and yourself?" she asked scathingly.

"Why it was quite enjoyable," he replied. He suddenly stopped, yanking Kripa closer to him.

"Ow! Are you trying to yank my arm out of my socket? Honestly!" she exclaimed. He wasn't listening though. He was watching the doors to the canteen. Prithvi and Harshini were walking out, hand in hand. Kripa fought the urge to vomit. The couple looked up and saw the two. Harshini smiled and started leading Prithvi over. Angad turned his back to them and towards Kripa, an evil look on his face. Before she knew what was happening he was leaning closer.

"Don't you da…," she hissed, but she was silenced by his lips on hers. She suppressed the urge to pull away violently and slap him. Oh, he would regret this later.

"Kripa? KRIPA!" she heard Prithvi yell, frustrated. Kripa broke the kiss and looked over at Prithvi. He looked livid and was holding Harshini's hand tightly.

"Yes, Prithvi?" she asked innocently. His eyes flashed dangerously.

"What do you think you're doing?" he demanded. Kripa's eyes narrowed. Who did he think he was? He didn't own her.

"I'm kissing my boyfriend, Prithvi. Is there a problem with that?" she asked, moving closer to Angad. He put an arm around her shoulders. Prithvi's eyes narrowed even more, but he didn't reply.

"Come on, Harshini. We don't need to sit around and witness those two swapping spit," he snarled and dragged her towards the staircases. When the two were out of sight, Kripa turned to Angad. He smiled smugly at her.

"Well, how was that?" he asked. SMACK. Kripa slapped his face. He glared at her angrily, a red spot already forming on his cheek.

"What was that for?" he asked harshly.

"That wasn't in the agreement!" she snarled. She turned around and stalked away from him, not wanting to talk to him anymore. She couldn't help but think that she wasn't as mad about him kissing her as much as the fact that she had liked it. A lot.

Part 5

Kripa entered the canteen the next morning, thankful that she hadn't run into Angad. She didn't feel like talking to him after the stunt he pulled last night. Stupid boy. She noticed Prithvi and Josh sitting towards the middle of the table, so she opted to take a seat near the end. She didn't feel like talking to Prithvi either. Not after his reaction last night.

She slowly piled her plate with food, but not nearly as much as Josh had, she noticed. She had also been rather disgusted by Josh's eating habits, but it's not like there was anything she could do about it… unless… she smiled evilly and wondered why she hadn't thought of this earlier. It would be the solution to all of her problems.

Prithvi turned to Josh, trying not to cringe at the speed that his friend was putting food in his mouth. He often wondered where exactly it all went… Josh had never been overweight. Josh paused in his eating, and Prithvi took his chance to say something.

"Uh… Josh, how do I tell Krips that I'm not really jealous, but that I'm just a little worried about Angad?" Prithvi asked. Josh didn't seem to hear at first and kept eating.

"Mmm… this food is better than I remembered… uh, don't worry about it," he replied. "Wait a second! DID YOU JUST SAY ANGAD?" Josh yelled. The whole place fell into silence and Josh turned as red as the shirt Prithvi was wearing. Prithvi grinned sheepishly and waved. Everyone turned back to their meals. Prithvi looked over at Kripa, who raised an eyebrow but made no move to speak to them.

"Kripa, our Krips, and ANGAD?" Josh asked, anger flashing in his eyes. Prithvi could understand why he was angry, almost everyone knew that Josh liked Kripa. He had had a hard time when Prithvi and Kripa started dating… now Kripa and Angad? He probably wouldn't speak to her for weeks. Prithvi nodded. "When did this start?" he asked. Prithvi shrugged.

"I don't know… maybe this summer, or on the train? I don't know. They came off the train holding hands, and when I asked her about it, she fed me some crap about how he's changed for the better…," he said bitterly. Josh scowled.

"Load of rubbish, that is," he snarled. Prithvi nodded in agreement.

"Of course it is! I mean, honestly… Angad? Change? When pigs fly," Prithvi commented. "What do you think we should do?" Prithvi asked. Josh thought for a moment.

"Well, we could always punch Angad… yes, that would be fun," he said, grinning maniacally. "Well, of course if that happened that slimy idiot teacher Mr. Oberoi would surely," he started, but he was interrupted by a voice behind him.

"Tell me, Mr. Bose, what would this slimy idiot surely do?" Mr. Oberoi asked and then walked off.

"I think he was standing there just to see if he would catch us talking about him I swear if…," Josh started again, but Prithvi elbowed him in the ribs. Mr. Oberoi walked by again, eyeing them suspiciously.

"I can't even insult him anymore!" Josh whined. Prithvi just laughed. He knew that Josh was still angry about Kripa, and he would probably avoid her. He didn't really care about that much at the moment. He was rather frustrated with Kripa also. How could she kiss Angad? It was… disgusting.

'I'm not jealous, though,' he told himself. He looked and saw Kripa engrossed in a book, her pretty brown eyes flicking across the page and her hair framing her face perfectly. Prithvi looked away quickly. 'Nope. Not jealous at all.'

The Chemistry Classroom

Kripa hurried into the classroom where she would have her chemistry lesson. She spotted Prithvi and Josh sitting at a table in the back and started walking toward them. Before she could reach them, she felt someone grab her wrist.

"Where do you think you're going?" Angad drawled. Kripa mentally rolled her eyes.

"Why, I was going to sit with my friends. Is that alright with you?" she asked, smiling sweetly.

"I naturally assumed you would sit with me. You are, after all, my girlfriend," he replied, mirroring her smile. Kripa scowled.

"Yeah, Kripa. Why don't you sit with your boyfriend. You're not wanted over here," Josh spat. Kripa looked at him, hurt. She saw his expression waver, but he still looked angry.

"Josh…," she said, attempting to reason with him. He didn't have time to reply, for Mr. Oberoi banged open door.

"Miss Kripa, if you would kindly take a seat, and I will begin the lesson," he drawled. Kripa sighed and reluctantly took a seat next to Angad. She was sitting between him and Manik. When she sat down she saw Manik eye her appreciatively. She scooted closer to Angad, disgusted by him. Angad smirked at her and turned back around, looking at Mr. Oberoi. If he was surprised by her choice of seating, he didn't show it. He simply continued on with the lesson like nothing was out of the ordinary.

"The people sitting at your table are your partners for this experiment. This is a very high level course, and although some of you don't belong here," Mr. Oberoi sneered, looking directly at Prithvi, "you should be able to complete this. It will take one month and will require you to come after call to work on it," he announced. No one moved. "Well, what are you waiting for? Get started," he snapped. Suddenly, everyone jumped up at once and headed for the storages.

'Hmm… that's rather odd. He never announced the name of the potion or what it does. Maybe he expects us to already know,' Kripa thought. She sat back and waited for the huge crowd of people to die down before she made a move to go to the stores. Angad looked at her quizzically.

"You seem rather calm, Kripa… you can't possibly have made this before?" Angad asked, raising an eyebrow in question.

"Well, actually I ha," she started, remembering who she was talking to. "I haven't. Nope. Never," she replied. Angad didn't look convinced.

"Sure, sure," he responded. Kripa rolled her eyes and stood.

"I don't have time for this," she muttered as she went to the supply room to get the ingredients. Of course she knew exactly what they needed because she had indeed made this potion before. Angad didn't need to know that, though, now did he? She was grabbing ingredients when she felt someone put their hands on her shoulders. She jumped slightly, alarmed.

"Hey, Kripa. How's it going?" she heard them whisper in her ear. Kripa huffed, annoyed.

"Get the hell off me, Manik," she said dangerously. She did not want him anywhere near her, let alone touching her.

"Loosen up, Kripa. I'm not going to do anything… yet." Kripa could hear the smirk in his voice.

"If you don't let go of me you're going to be sorry," she warned. She heard him chuckle.

"Oh? What are you going to do?" he asked scathingly. He turned her around so she looked him in the eye. Kripa glared at him. Suddenly, she felt him being ripped from her and saw as he was slammed against the wall.

"Touch her again and you're dead, Manik? Got it?" Manik nodded and scurried off to the table. Kripa looked over at Angad and glared.

"I was handling it, okay?" she snapped at him. She tried to push past him, but he stopped her.

"It didn't look like you were handling it to me. Trust me, I know Manik… and what he's capable of," he told her. Kripa sighed. She handed him some of the ingredients and started to walk towards the table.

"You're protecting me!" Kripa said cutely

Angad raised an eyebrow, "So?"

"You like me!" Kripa said a fake smile plastered on her face

Angad frowned, "Don't be cute!"

"He's my night in shining armor," Kripa said sarcastically as she placed the handful of supplies on the table in front of her.

Angad threw her a look to shut-up, and when Kripa's head turned the other way he couldn't help but smile.
