Part 23 –Valentine's Day evening
It was the evening of a perfect Valentine's Day. Isha was dressed in a beautiful pink saree that Eklavya had bought for her himself. Now, he had blindfolded her and was driving her to a special place. His special place. It was perfect! Everything was perfect! She smiled at her eagerness and wondered where he was taking her.
I: Eklavya, come on! Give me a hint at least…
E: You'll love it
I: Ok…I love a lot of things…
E: Just wait, Isha.
After what seemed like ages, Eklavya finally opened Isha door and led her out of the car and into the cool breeze of the evening. He took her hand in his and walked with her towards the special place. He stood right behind her and slowly he removed the blindfold from her eyes. She gasped. The place was beautiful. They were standing in front of a perfect clear blue sea. They were at the most serene beach Isha had ever been to. She wondered why there was no other couple besides them at the beach on Valentine's Day. As if reading her thoughts, Eklavya replied.
E: I booked the beach for us…I love this place, especially in the evenings. It's so quiet and peaceful here. You could spend hours just listening to the waves.
Isha saw what he meant; the beach was a wondrous place to be in. It was so perfect for a romantic evening or just for staying away from the heavy, stressful lifestyle of Mumbai. But she still couldn't believe that Eklavya had booked the whole beach just for her.
I: How did you book the whole beach?
E: You'll be surprised at your powers when you're a Virani.
He smiled at her and she smiled back. The evening was so perfect and there were no other worries right then and there. She could go on staring at him forever, it seemed so. But suddenly she had a wild urge. She let go of Eklavya's hand and took off her stilettos. She went into the water and took some water in her cupped hand. She called Eklavya over saying she'd lost her earings somewhere. Eklavya came to help her find the earring only to be splashed with water. Isha ran, giggling, from Eklavya's grasp. After a few seconds, Eklavya realized what had just happened. He took off his wet shirt and ran after Isha. Of course with his excellent athletic skills, he caught up with her in no time. He grabbed her hand and pulled her towards him abruptly. She was taken aback at first but then she used her quick reflexes to push Eklavya down into the water. However, Eklavya was still holding her hand and he pulled her on top of him.
They stayed there for a while; Isha on top of Eklavya along the shoreline with waves crashing at their sides. It was so peaceful that Isha just wanted to stay there but she knew she couldn't. Eklavya got up and gave a hand to pull Isha up. Isha noticed how perfect his physique was without his shirt on. She quickly looked away incase Eklavya thought she was staring. The stars were twinkling now and the moon was gazing upon them bright and clear. Eklavya took Isha's hand and walked with her along the shoreline waiting for the right time for his real surprise. Suddenly, Isha screamed out in surprise.
I: Eklavya, look! It's a mussel! The types that have pearls in them! Oh, wow, I thought they only existed in freshwater! Come on let's go look in it!
Glad at Isha's eagerness, Eklavya bent down on one knee and got the mussel. He slowly opened the mussel not to reveal a pearl but a white gold pearl and diamond ring inside it. Isha gasped. He wasn't actually - ?
E: Isha, I've never met a girl like you in my entire life. You're clumsy, you fall on top of me all the time and you get angry if provoked! Magar all that is what I love about you. No matter how imperfect anyone thinks you are. I know that you're perfect for me.
Isha didn't know what to say, she was still in her it-this-really-happening mode. She was tempted to pinch herself but found herself frozen to the ground when she tried.
E: Isha, will you marry me?
