Riya took a day off from work, thanks to her infamous encounter last night. She had mentally slapped herself 1000 times since last night, that why she didn't react? She blamed all the things on herself, and promised to keep herself away from him.whenever she thought to keep distance, his words  came in her mind…

'' don't do it again….. you got me?''

The touch, the unknown sensation was enough to confuse her and made her guilty about it more.to distance herself from all of this,she started to read a file from her study.then she remembered it was the same file she and shai stole from commissioner sir's office.she read it, and her eyes stopped on a particular point.

The police officer missing from the mission was looking very similar to her…..like she has seen this man before.but where?

Oh yes…..the pic looks like much her new caretaker of the goa house, the house she recently brought. She brushed off the thought, that may be she is mistaking, but her mind was 100% sure that she was not. She quickly took out the file containing info about the care taker, Mr. D'costa, and matched the pic with the file.

The man was the same, no doubt. So the officer flew away and started a new life? Ok.

She quickly caller shai and told her everything.

''call him here, in Mumbai..'' shai said.

''I don't think he will come too easily.'' Riya said.

''tell him its about paperwork.'' Shai suggested and Riya agreed. She then called D'costa and conviced him to come Mumbai, and he said ok, without any suspicion.

''welcome back to Mumbai.'' Riya said as she cut the call.

2 days later……..

Mr. D'costa entered the empty drawing room of Mukherjee mansion, and looked here and there for anyone. All were gone to amusement park. Except Riya, and she welcomed him.

After some chit chat, shaina entered the scene, along with Rathore by her side. He was confused that why he is here.they settled down and Riya cleared her throat.

''Mr. D'costa….or should I call you Inspector tyagi?''

Her question shocked D'costa like nothing. His eyes were wide.

''look, we all know that you are the only alive officer from the undercover mission against Lala 5 years ago.'' Shaina said and Rathore was shocked at her words. He looked at him in disbelief.

''Mr. tyagi, we only want to know what happened that day? How Lala came to know about ur plan? That's it, then we wont bother you'' Shai continued.

D'costa sighed a little, then said, ''I think now it will do nothing if I admit.'' He said and took a deep breath, ''I will tell u what happened that day.''

He narrated that how that fateful day pathan tortured another officer, and thus came to know about the whole plan. He himself killed the officer, and then send his men to kill the rest.fearing for his life, tyagi already flew fromMumbai, and later came to know that their mission is over and everyone died, including their boss, Rathore's father.

''that officer is Patil, right? '' asked Riya, and he nodded. She could not stop herself to ask more.

''so he is the backstabber?''

''no…..he was not….Pathan tortured him to such an extent that he had to spilled it all. He was too strong, and they tortured him like nothing. But after they showed him fear about family, he gave up.'' Tyagi answered. ''we police men are only scared about our family, nothing else.''

''but he was not police officer, is he?'' asked shai.

''he was with that drug dealing team, but later become our informer. Sir had also appointed him as constable, but didn't able to hand over the letter.'' He concluded. Riya sighed in relief as her gut feeling was right from the first.Chout's father was not the back stabber, he had to give up due to circumstances.

Tyagi took his leave and shai riya informed rathore it all, including chotu's father involvement in it.

''you 2 were doing it all from when? And shai u didn't tell me?'' he was surprised and little hurt. They kept him in dark.

''sir, don't blame her….it was my idea. I thought if u come to know about chotu's father, u will be judgemental. I wanted to know it all before informing anything.'' Riya confessed.

Shai looked at rathore apologetically and he was in shock.then without saying anything, he went out.

''shit….we hurt him.'' Riya was feeling guilty.

''he will be fine…he just needs time to register.'' Shaina assured her and she also left.

 

Next morning………….

All settled down for their usual work, but still there was no trace of Rathore. Riya was getting impatient by each passing second, she has called shai earlier night to check on rathore, but her phone was unreachable. She don't know how he will react today after coming to office, nor she knew what will happen next.her heartbeat was increasing, and she was not able to concentrate on her work.

There was a file on Arjun's lap, but he was busy to stare at Riya. He witnessed that she was very nervous, and occasionally looking at the door, as she was expecting someone.he wanted to talk to her about what happened some days earlier, she took the next day off, and since then he didn't get any chance to talk to her. He knew she was feeling guilty, and he wanted to clarify it all, but he don't know himself what he is gonna say to her if he gets a chance.he never felt so helpless in life, so restless.its all happening because of her, he thought and sighed. But he had to find a way to talk, he don't know yet what will he say, but he have to talk.

Rathore entered the room, banging the door, startling everyone.riya jumped and stood at once, and just hoped that all will be good.but she knew nothing will be ok now…the look on Rathore's face was cold and determined, and she could not help but curse the moment she and shai stole the file.

Rathore slowly went towards chotu, who was giving him a quizzical look. Riya was about to bite her nails in tension, she clenched her fist so tight that it started to hurt.

The silence was getting on their nerves.Arjun stood up and his look shift from Riya's tense face, and Rathore's predator type approach on chotu. he was about to say something when rathore's voice broke into the room.

''chandrakant Patil.'' His words shocked everyone and all had to think who is that person. Then they all remember it's chotu's actual name.

''yes sir?'' chotu was tensed now. Did he mess something up? He could not remember it.

This is it. Shit. Riya cursed in mind, and closed her eyes, not to witness what will happen next.

What is going on? Thought shree and Arjun mentally.

Rathore took out a envelope from his back pocket and hand it over to chotu. He took it timidly, and tear the side of it.

''envelope? That means chotu is sacked?'' Riya opened her eyes after hearing the sound of paper tearing. She thought rathore has throw chotu out of ETF.

Everyone was staring at the duo with quizzical look.Riya now started to chew her nail in tension.they were more shocked as chotu's mouth was open like o shape and his eyes were wide with shock.

''it is sure his termination letter.'' Riya thought mentally.

Arjun shot a look to Riya and then to Rathore. What is going on? And why on earth she is so tensed?

''sir…..ye…..par…..'' were the only words came out from chotu's mouth. And now riya was sure as hell that its his termination letter. she cursed herself more now.

''I know, shocking hain….par it's the truth.'' Said rathore. All were now more confused, and Riya supported herself with hands on the table.

''what is going on?'' asked arjun aloud. This secret is getting on his nerves. Before he can say anything, Chotu jumped like a 5 year old kid, and laughed.

''sir, kya ye….sach…..iska matlab……yes….'' He was very happy, and Riya thought he has lost his mind in shock. The next thing shocked them all more, as chotu jumped and hugged Rathore tightly.

''what the….'' Was the only reaction they gave. Rathore was also shocked, but he patted his back and a smile came on his corner of lips.

Riya could not take it anymore…she slumped of the sit in shock. Her mind was blank. Now she knew it cant be termination letter, so what is it?

''main abhi aai ko bata kar  ata hoon.'' Chotu broke the hug and sprinted towards the door, smiling so big that it hurted his cheek.Rathore looked at his retreating back and sighed a little.

''Rathore, ab batane ka kast karoge ki yeh sab ho kya raha hain?'' asked arjun irritatedly. This secret is killing him.

''sir, uss envelope mein tha kya?'' asked shree. Riya also looked at her boss, hoping to find answer.

Rathore sat on his usual seat and said, ''who uske baba ke samman mein ek letter hain. Chotu ke baba ko police force ki taraf se honour milne wala hain. And his family will also get treatment like rest of the police men's family get.''

''kya?'' said arjun and shree in unity. They didn't get it. rathore clarified it.

''chotu ke father mere dad ke saath undercover team mein samil the…..woh ek informer the, par baad mein dad ne unhe police force ka part bana diya. He didn't get a chance to hand over the joining letter.'' His voice became hoarse, and he cleared his throat, ''he is also a part of the police force, he is constable chandran patil. The police force will honor him now….its too late, but better late than never.'' He concluded.

All slumped on the sit in shock. Only riya was smiling, at last that didn't happen what she thought. She was relieved, and ashamed that she thought of Rathore so bad. And she was happy for chotu too. At last he can proudly say of his father, not being ashamed.

''but this is all so confusing.'' Said Arjun, still in shock.

''I know…mujhe khud kuch waqt pehle pata chala…..and when I know, I didn't waste a second to fix it all.'' Rathore answered. All were silent, slowly letting the realization to sink in.

Soon after, a phone call for a new case come, and the team were back in action, putting their all thought aside.

 

The whole team had finished their work, and now left for their home.Riya handed over her key to shree, and quickly collected her things to leave ASAP. Her kness were about to gave away, as Arjun was staring at her like that. she cursed her fate as Shree sprinted out of the room the moment he got the keys, leaving him and her alone in the room.

She took her bag, and about to open the door when Arjun nearly ran and pushed it back, not letting her opening it. her heartbeat increased again, it always does whenever he is close to her.

''I want to talk to you.'' He said in determined voice, and her breathing stopped. She knew very well what he is going to talk about, but she is so frightened at the memory and her inner emotions that she cant face it once more. she whispered.

''let me go….shree is waiting.''

''I don't care.'' He raised his voice and hold her upper arm, turning her to him.it was so unexpected that Riya leaned on the opposite glass door for support.

''you are avoiding me…. Again.'' He said , looking intently at her. She was shaking under his touch, and was not looking at him.

''yes.'' She admitted. Her honest answer calm him down little. He freed her arms and took a deep breath.

''look, I know why you are doing this….what happened that night….'' He started to clarify, don't know what to say, but her reply froze him.

''that was just a mistake….momentary mistake.'' She whispered, not meeting his eyes. Her heart was screaming at her for saying these words, but she was not in a position to think.

''what did you say?'' arjun could not believe his ears.

''what happened…..was a mistake.'' She repeated the words with great difficulty.Arjun was now angry as hell.

''really? Mistake?'' he crossed his arms on his chest. She nodded meekly and quickly turned to pull the door, but he was too fast for her.

''I am not done yet.'' He again pushed the door and kept his hand on it, pinning her with the door now.

''maybe you think what happened was a mistake, but I don't think so.'' He said, stressing each word carefully, and she looked at him with shock in eyes.

''it felt perfectly right to me, I cant even think it was a mistake.'' He further added, and looked at her directly. his face hardened more with next words.

''but you think it is a mistake.'' He leaned more on her, pinning her more on the door. He whispered in her ears.

''it still feel wrong? That we are so close? Still a mistake? Momentary mistake?'' the words weakened her sense furthermore, and she was not even in a sense to nod or say anything aloud.

''speak up….it still feels wrong.'' He whispered more, expecting answers. he know it now that she feels something too, but she is scared to admit it. she would have run away the earlier night, but she was there, not fighting him at all.

She was now fully caught in his spell, and was about to say it all aloud, when suddenly she remembered something…..

 Her darkest secret.

The spell broke and her eyes snapped open. She was now in full sense. She pushed away arjun, surprising him.

''yes….it all wrong. You are my boss….thats it…nothing else. Its all wrong, a mistake. You heard me? Its all mistake.'' She yelled on him, and his face was angry now.he again come near her, but she raised her hand.

''don't come near me…'' the words stopped him. She took the chance and quickly turned and pulled the door,then she heard his voice again.

''you are not running myself, but from urself too. But I will wait for the day you listen to ur heart, like what I am doing right now.''

She froze for a second, then went out of the room, sprinting much as she could.she was running to

get away from him…..so much away that he wont be able to reach for her.
