Chapter 12

Mehak reached Nehal's house, freshened up and changed with the help of Nehal. All of them talked for a while and then retired to their rooms after having dinner.

When Mehak was alone in her room she was thinking about what happened throughout the day. She remembered the time when Shaurya saved her from the scolding Nehal might have subjected her to and Kanta Chachi's disappointment. She also thought that how even he was disappointed in her, for fasting for HER Armaan. She recalled every little detail about the day. The part where he helped her change, she was maybe thinking too much about it but she felt like a woman again,not a patient but a woman and it was a big deal. She drifted back to the time when she was in her courtship period with Armaan, that was the time she actually felt like a woman. She was pretty young at that time,just at 20, fresh out of college her venture -Bride Stories became popular, she found her soulmate, a 26 year old , handsome and kind hearted doctor, at that time she thought that she was the luckiest girl on the planet, she thought she would never need anything more from then other than two lovely kids born out of their love for each other. She even had the names of her kids ready. She and Armaan even discussed kids and sometimes when Armaan was in a mood he would tease her about the baby making process. She laughed slowly and thought that those were the days she lived her life fully thus God left her with nothing thereafter.

Thinking about all this she slept after all she was at Aunt Kanta's place, the day began at 6. She pulled the blanket on her face and slept, it was around 1:30 then.

On the other side of the town, the party was almost over,guests were leaving. Shaurya thanked his stars that he would get to have some peaceful time. Whole day hadn't been short of a circus. He thought, though a circus...the day was still calm or he would have been going mad about not letting the secret about his family and the authorities out. Finally everyone left with Mrs and Mr. Sanjay Malhotra being the last ones to leave.

Upon seeing them off, the Khannas came inside and went to the living room, Shaurya summoned Awara and asked him through his eyes if everything went smoothly or did someone try to intrude in their house or it's matters. Though Awara said no but Shaurya was still skeptical. Nonetheless he went to his room and on it's way, he saw the door of the guest room open. He entered inside, the bed was in a mess, Shaurya called Awara and asked what was all that . Awara entered and said that maybe a couple sneaked in to have some time together but Shaurya wasn't convinced. He feared something was wrong. His skeptical mind was the solr reason he fixed a spy cam in the chandelier right outside the alley of rooms. He went to his room with Awara in tow, he opened his Laptop and went to the captured footage of the day.

 His doubt was right, Sanjay and Swetlana went to that room. They were obviously not there for what they wanted to portray. Shaurya understood everything. The guest room was the room to the immediate right of Harish and Karuna's room. Those people definitely used the balconies  to go from one room to another and made the condition of the bed like it was so that even if people come to know about them being in the main mansion, they don't understand their main motive and think that they were in the room for some quality time with each other because they were living far away.

 He was sure then that they still only doubted Harish as they ventured only in his room and didn't bother to check his room which was the last room in the alley. He sent Awara away and then went to his Dad's room. Karuna and Harish were smiling , Shaurya asked through his eyes and they both happily nodded.

 Shaurya smirked and thought that the producer couple and even the other hotelier and businessmen weren't smart enough to decipher his plan. It was true that he set the bait after he came to know about Karwa Chauth was being arranged in their house. Shaurya knowingly hid the documents of K.D Shaurie's fraudulent new project on whose name he was making another hotel, in the most obvious place. It was nothing when compared to the main proves and documents that they possessed and were helping the authorities with. The Malhotra's must have found it and handed it to the great Mr. Shaurie and must have taken a sigh of relief after knowing that supposedly Khannas were only the business rivals and would mean no further harm to anyone except Shaurie and even those proves they destroyed. He was sure that the Khannas were then off the radar and he could quicken his work for finding more proves and get it over with returning to his normal routine life.

He went to his room, changed and finally lied down on the bed to sleep. He was happy that his plan was a success. He closed his eyes and the visual that crossed his mind was of her ,in his arms, smiling. Unknowingly a smile crept on his face too. He was recalling everything that happened throughout the day. He wanted to think how he outsmarted the bad guys but all he could think about was how he spent the day with her.

He got up and thought in this way he won't be able to sleep at all. He drank a glass of water and switched on the music system in his room. As usual what played on the system was his favorite song by Nikki- Ehsaas. Other songs on that playlist were by Nikki again. Those were all love songs and amazing soothing and calming.He wondered how amazing it would be for Ajay to have her sing live for him because she was too shy to sing in front of audience, it was true that she has had concerts but again those weren't actually her singing but lipsing because she had a stage fright and words would often dry in her mouth when she saw an audience, he thought about talking about the same to her again maybe with the help of Mehak. He brushed the thought aside when he understood that his brain was again going deep into thoughts of her. He just closed his eyes and slept.

Next day he got up and did his daily excercise regime followed by his favourite breakfast. He decided that he shall finally give his parents the Anniversary present that he had for them because it was his second last day in Delhi and they shall have at least a day at that place before he goes back to Mumbai, his 'Karmbhumi'.

He asked them to get ready for a small drive and stay at a nice place tonight before they come back the next morning. His parents were excited but little did they know about the new farm house they were the owners of. Only Shaurya knew how he kept the purchase under wraps as the media was going all crazy about the gift he would give to his parents because he was visiting them after a long time. People thought that he would be using the trip to clear the misunderstandings between the father and the son and hence there was a wave of excitement in the air about the gift he would give to his father to do some damage control on their relationship.

The drive was pleasant and they reached the farm house. He announced his gift to his parents and they were proud of him. He took them inside and showed them around. They really like their room, his room. They saw the various other rooms too. Shaurya next took them to the room where Mehak and he were the previous night. They looked around the room and found it to be nice. Harish remarked that this was indeed the best of all rooms in the farm house or Shaurya would not have had a little stay himself in that room with his special someone. Karuna looked towards Harish and asked what he was saying, even Shaurya was confused.
