The Ring
“That’s just terrible behavior Lynn” Mendy paced his living room
“I didn’t say anything made up”
“This is just not cool yaar”
“I said what Atty said”
“ATTY is the father of her child yaar, how can you put words into his mouth?”
“I DIDN’T, I said he said she can be impossible sometimes”
“NO U said he thinks she is insufferable”
“Haa” she nodded gleefully
“That’s horrible man!”
“Have u seen her give him tude?”
“That’s none of our business yaar”
“the kid is also like her only”
“Lynn stop it man” Mendy got up to go to the living room
They were fighting thru the night unable to get to sleep
“Stope defending her, you like her don’t you?” Lynn began to cry
“is that why you hate her?”
“Is that why you defend her?”
“I asked first”
“I don’t hate her, but yeah I think she is not a good fit for Atty”
“They are not marrying each other mann”
“U never know” she growled and shook her head looked out the window
“Stop speculating, stop being nasty to someone u do not know” he whispered
One of the girls moaned inside

Lynn was vicious
Mendy was furious
“Are you MADD?”
Her mother was sleeping in the kids room, she would love such an accusation
She hated Mendy anyway
“U seem to have the hots for her”
“She was wearing a freaking RING” Mendy accused
Lynn looked ashamed
“Is she engaged?”
“I don’t know that, you don’t know that, none of us do” he looked at her incredulously
“I hope she is, I hope she marries him and moves out”
“Tere ko us flat ko leke jealousy ho raha hai or do u truly hate her”
“I don’t have to hate her I just think she is not right for Atty”
“How about if Atty says the same thing to YOU or to ME?”
She lowered her gaze, her mother did say to her daily “You could have done better Lynn, there are many men out there who could have treated u like a princess”
“Do u get my point?” he growled
“I don’t hate her dude… let it go, mere ko soney ka hai” Lynn got up tied her hair angrily with her scuncie and began walking away
“Stop saying stupid things to Mrunal”
“Mind ur own business” she hissed under her breath

“U can pay me next month, I am glad u did not win anything so no big deal” smiley

“I did not” Aatreya responded shocked
“Well Lynn seems to think she is hitched or will be”

“This is not done mann!!” As Mendy narrated his anger on the topic rose again
“Maybe they should stay off each other” Aatreya chuckled
“Mrunalini has not come to my house ONCE man!!” “Not ONCE”

“U tell her I am sorry I will stop by after work Monday sneak in and say it myself”

“Thanks Mann” Mendy yawning

Aatreya stayed up after that wondering how he did not notice the ring
He wondered who she was dating and why she wouldn’t tell him
