The win
The sound of ice rattling at the bottom of his whisky glass as he drank at the balcony cut through the silence. His own plans to ruin Anurag now an intention. Rishabhs eyes looked as disturbed and wounded as he’d begun feeling.
Hearing Prerna enter the room he turned to his side to see her take a seat at the dressing table from afar.
Seeing her in his home gave him a innate sense of satisfaction. She remained with him and his.
Maybe what people said about him was indeed true. What fulled him was his desire for control and ownership? Why else would he be feeling this way?
Or maybe his lightly inclined heart was more helplessly in love than he realised.
Prerna looked up into the mirror to see Rishabh walk in holding his whisky glass He had retried into his nightwear. She could feel the atmosphere he had created around him. His eyes looked different to the composed Mr Bajaj she knew. As she removed her earrings she quietly aware he had walked into the room in his passing.
“Who won?” He asked like a businessman.
She glanced into the mirror knowing what he needed to hear and what would help settle his restlessness.
“Aap” (“You did”) she said meaningfully. Her eyes intimate with her husband.
She had a way of massaging his ego he thought. A wifely intuition that knew what to say when to say it and how. His eyes stopped looking so restless and agitated for that second.
Before he walked back to his chair out in the balcony she wanted him to know something else.
“I don’t want anything to do with him anymore, joh karna hai aap kijiye.” (“You do as you please”) She said content, aware he had a score to settle after this evening.
Rishabh gave a gentle nod to let he her know he’d heard her and walked back out to his chair.
From within his chair he could still see his wife .. removing her jewellery at the dressing table. The shutters open for him keeping her visible.
He watched her unpin her hair, along with every other accessory. His eyes failed to stay away.
He’d been feeling possessive of her all night, his pride wounded he began to wonder if there was truth in Mr Basus tasteless humour. “Pathetic” he cursed into his whisky.
A moment or two later ne lowered his glass having seen his wife pull open the tie of her blouse. He wondered whether she’d chosen to keep those shutters open. Another sign of her commitment to him.
He slammed the glass down on the table and headed into the room to mark her as his.
..
Unbearably possessive, passionate and demanding. Prerna understood well the origins of Mr Bajajs ways with her that night were .
They were the result of his hurt ego. His significance in her life had been questioned by an outsider. Not only did Rishabh portray his possessive nature to her that night but also his vulnerability. His fear of loosing her was a stark contrast to the possessive love.
He went from asserting his rights on her more notably though sex , to confessing that he had been afraid to loose her. Two contrasting but passionate sides of her husband.

Prerna woke up the next morning to find him pacing the balcony. There was no doubt he was planning his next chess move against Anurag with Mr Mehra when she managed to catch his eyes.
Whilst he was dressed tidily per his norm she was still sat wrapped in bed linen from the night before.
She was more concerned with seeking those eyes of his to see if the husband she was accustomed who had been lost to difficult emotions last night had returned.
He had ..and with a heightened intimacy and understanding said his eyes to her from afar.
The win wasn’t the satisfaction she got from seeing a defeated Anurag the win was what she shared now with Rishabh.
