Sorry for taking ages on this - lots of stuff happened over the last few weeks but I'm back now. Hope you're all well. Here we go next one later this week will try and aim for tomorrow.
“Two’s company”’
George had laid a elegant table.
Taken the gentleman’s coat, offered him wine and a seat in the lounge.,This must have been Anurag Basu finally a face to the name . A tall dark young man dressed in a expensive suit. Making a effort but not so to speak with his choice of black blazer
and a simple white open collar.
George on the other hand was a simple humble employee in his butler style uniform he had no business prying. What he did have is a observant eye and a loyal heart which made him keep a watch on the man unintentionally.
Different to other guests Mr Basu seemed to want to look around the house a little more as he sipped on the wine offered to him.
“I’m sure they won’t be long” smiled George and Anurag smiled back.
..
Prerna held her breath steady as she walked along side Rishabh into the dinning hall.
Her heart was beating loudly and continued to beat even when she laid eyes on him.
Anurag Basu, exactly how she remembered him.
Watching him rise from the lounger and stride his way towards them. His eyes in a fierce lock with hers. He looked at youthful as ever, tidy and composed.
His eyes intentionally her for a little longer expecting them to make her uncomfortable they didn’t.
She was a different lady.
“Mr Basu, welcome”. Smiled Rishabh pleasantly extending his hand out for a handshake forcing Anurags eyes away from Prerna.
Shaking Rishabhs hand Anurag looked towards Prerna once a gain with a with a smile..”
“Prerna” he said with a nod not expecting her to smile back confidently.
..
Everything seemed out of politeness. The small talk over the meal or the passing of plates. Filling of wine glasses.
Rishabh seemed to be the only one with sincerity. The other two created a atmosphere of pretence.
It was time to cut through. Rishabh who was close to the end of his meal was keen this didn’t continue and eyed Mrs Bajaj. If she’d learnt anything from him over these years she’d know what was required.
“Kya chahte ho Anurag?Kuch toh hai after all you’re a businessman.” She said shrewdly watching Anurags lips curve around his wineglass in half a smile.
“You know me too well Prerna”. He passes her one of his implying looks she shrugs off.
“Mr Bajaj I am interested in making you a deal”says Anurag turning swiftly to Rishabh who hears him but takes him by surprise.
“You’d have to talk to my wife Mr Basu, Prerna is in my CEO chair as of now she makes the calls.
Wiping his hands putting his napkin into his plate he smiles “If you’d both excuse me I must wish my daughter goodnight.” This was Prernas feud after all and he didn’t wish to take that away from her. Goodnight Mr Bajaj.. “ said Anurag and Rishabh nodded.

Walking away up to the second floor of his home Rishabh.. walks down a corridor towards Kukis room.
He knocks lightly on the door and turns the handle to take a peak at a already asleep Kuki. Her storybook still in her hand. He smiled tip toed into the room and took away the book and put it on the side. Whatever life bought his way his daughter was one constant that provided him with strength.
As he left a few seconds later walking back down the corridor the corner office which held the house’s security technology caught his eye.
He walked into office took a seat on the chair behind the deck and picked up the remote to choose the lounge.
His conscious made him feel guilty for a moment but he also had a duty to protect his wife.
He watched prerna and Anurag still at the dinner table.
His grey eyes were intent on Mr Basu, he knew if he was sat in his place what he’d be asking for. He turned his chair away from the screen and listened to the conversation.
...
Downstairs at the table the conversion continued after a long silence”
“I Suppose his age calls for early nights it’s a shame really. Must really hinder what you need as a younger lady.”
Prerna ignored Anurags immature comment boys would be boys and men men she thought.
Back in the CCTV room Rishabh sat back in his chair and let his leg cross over the other comfortably taking note of the very first insult his ego hurt that was for sure.
However on the other hand Prerna handled well.
“I thought you were here to talk business Mr Basu if you’ve changed your mind then let’s call it a night I have a husband to get back to.
“Business is exactly what I want” said Anurag smugly.Prerna met his eyes confidently.
After a pause Anurag revealed his ask
“I want you ...come back to me Prerna”
Prernas eyes changed for a moment, he’d caught her by surprise where as Rishabh threw his head back in the chair he was sat in. This was as he’d expected even if it made his blood boil. He closed his eyes and waited to hear what Prerna would say. His heart waiting on trial.
There was pin drop silence for a moment as Prerna tried to understand why her heart skipped a beat for her enemy.
“That’s not on the table..” she said feistily.
The strength in her eyes surprised Anurag whilst he felt defeated Rishabh took another sigh one of relief before leaving the room, a man could only watch so much of his wife with a former love.
..
“Goodnight Mr Basu, George see Mr Basu out.” Said Prerna not willing to continue the conversion.
“I’m not done , There’s more” replied Anurag.
“Sneha Anurag Basu”
That’s not negotiable she said rolling her eyes
It will be in court, he threw back
“then I’ll see you in Court now please leave” she looked at him coldly he had no choice now that a security guard stood more visibly around them.
Watching Anurag Basu leave defeated gave Prerna a sense of satisfaction like no other.
