Zarina Wahab reveals why she chose silence over confrontation in Aditya Pancholi’s affair rumours

Veteran actor Zarina Wahab has opened up about her long-standing marriage to Aditya Pancholi, addressing years of speculation surrounding his alleged affairs. In a recent interview with Nayandeep Rakshit, she shared candid details about their whirlwind romance, their decision to marry within weeks, and her perspective on living with a partner whose personal life has often made headlines.

Zarina and Aditya met on the sets of a film and got married just 15 days later. Recalling the moment, she said, “We got married within 15-20 days of meeting each other. We were working on Nari Hari film. He had a scene to shoot, where he had to cry. He started to cry and didn’t stop at all. We even had to stop the shooting for that day. We sat in the same car when I held his hand and told him ‘don’t cry’. At that time, he held my hand tighter and within 15 days we got married.”

Their marriage has lasted nearly four decades. But it hasn’t been without controversies—Aditya’s name has frequently appeared in gossip columns, linking him to actresses like Kangana Ranaut and Pooja Bedi. Zarina, however, has mostly remained quiet.

In this interview, she responded to the public perception. “People think I am very stressed. They simply assume that ‘she must be unhappy because Aditya is seeing this and that girl’ nobody says, ‘Yeh ladki dekh rahi hai inko’.”

She also questioned why only the man is blamed in such situations. “That’s wrong. This is all a phase which comes and goes. I never take these phases seriously as I know he will never get serious with anyone else as he loves me a lot.”

When asked how the rumours affected her personally, she replied, “I used to feel a little bad when I used to read affair rumours, but then I also laughed at them. I don’t care what he does outside, but when he enters the house, he is an excellent father and husband.”

In an earlier conversation with Lehren Retro, Zarina had mentioned, “I was always aware of Nirmal’s affairs, but I never questioned him... I was completely prepared for him to have affairs.”
