Yukti Kapoor plays the role of Kirti in Keh Doon Tumhein (KDT). The show is being produced by Vajra Productions. Praising the title and storyline of the show, the actor shares her experience.

“I am just in love with the title. I also remember discussing titles on set because we started shooting very early, and the name was not decided. Some tentative name was "Kalpurush," and then this name came up, "Keh Doon Tumhein." We all got so excited because " Keh Doon Tumhein " applies to everyone in every situation. Like Vikrant has a lot of things to say to Kirti, and Kirti has a lot of things to say to Vikrant (Mudit Nayar). Everyone has their stuff to say, so" Keh Doon Tumhein " sounded perfect to all of us,” she says.

KDT is a thriller. “Words are not enough to express my gratitude and happiness about being a part of a thriller show like this because it is different from the work I've done before in daily soaps. The situations are different, and we are always curious on set about the next episode. When we are reading one episode, we'll ask, "Where is the other episode? We need to read it right now," because the last scene is always so inquisitive that we eagerly anticipate the next episode. So, I am very excited to be a part of this thriller,” she says.

About her character, she adds, “I'm playing a mother, and to be honest, this is my very first time portraying such a role. I don't relate in that way, but because of this character, I have been reminiscing about all my childhood days with my mother. Whenever I perform as Kirti, especially in my scenes with Puru (Aan Tiwari), my on-screen son, I make sure to do it in a way my mother used to, with warmth, actions, and the way she used to speak. It makes me miss my mom a lot.”

The show is being shot in Panchgani and Yukti is therefore enjoying this journey all the more.

“Oh my God, what a beauty! My skin, my hair, my breath—everything has improved because of Panchgani. All the locations are live locations. I mean, I'm so blessed and lucky to be shooting in live locations. All I ever wanted was to be a part of something. We always watch movies and shows with live locations, and I have got it.”

She also praises the production house. “They are one of the best productions, I must say, because whatever I ask for, I get. This goes on like someday I need something, and someday or another, I always get whatever I ask for. They have given me this warmth, a family-like feeling,” she smiles.

KDT has been receiving good feedback from fans. “The response is so heartwarming. When I read comments on Twitter, the audience is in love with the show and all the characters, not just because of Vikrant and Kirti but they are in love with all the characters. On Instagram too, we've been receiving a lot of positive responses, and I hope it continues and reaches more and more television viewers. I just want the ratings to increase because the show is different from others. I know that the audience is not used to watching content like this, but we are growing day by day and receiving a lot of positive responses from people. I hope, in the future, the audience engages more in television, and the industry undergoes changes to explore different topics.”

The TV industry has evolved. “Today's content isn't limited to saas-bahu dramas; it delves into real-life issues. In our show, we explore Kirti's life as a single mother. The audience should be open to embracing not only typical family dramas but also more serious topics in a lighter way,” she explains.

Daily soap means a lot of hard work and patience, and Yukti agrees. “Recently, for a scene, I cried for almost 11 hours. I started crying at 8:00 a.m. and stopped at 7:00 p.m. So, it's a challenging journey, running from one location to another, from one scene to another. It's very stressful, very hard work, but it's also rewarding and gives me immense happiness as when I sleep, I feel fulfilled doing what I love,” she adds.
