YRKKH: Abhimanyu grants Abhir’s wish & decides to send him back to Akshara & Abhinav

In today's episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (YRKKH) on August 2nd, 2023, the family confronts Abhir about his previous statement regarding living with his grandparents, Neelam Amma, and Docman. Abheer realizes he was mistaken and cannot bear the thought of living without his parents. He expresses his determination to run away if forced to live apart from them. Abheer apologizes to Abhimanyu for hurting him and explains his preference for living in Kasauli. Despite distractions, he insists on discussing his wish.

Akshara, Abhinav, and Kairav try to dissuade Abhir from asking to live with them, but Kairav intervenes, urging them to acknowledge Abheer's honest feelings. Parth suggests the children should let the elders talk, and they retreat inside. Manjari points out that children may not be mature enough to make such significant decisions. She apologizes for keeping Akshara from meeting Abheer and requests not to punish Abhimanyu for her mistakes. Kairav argues that they should prioritize Abheer's happiness, which lies with Akshara and Abhinav. Anand advises giving Abheer time to adjust to the new environment, and they can reassess later if needed.

Swarna raises concerns about potential trauma affecting Abheer's personality during this time. Manjari defends the court's decision to grant custody to Abhimanyu, but Swarna questions whether Abhimanyu and Manjari themselves are truly happy. Surekha reminds them of the impact on the other two children living with them.

Amid the escalating argument, Abhimanyu asserts that he holds the final decision as he has custody of Abheer. He heads to Abheer's room, determined, while the family looks on with concern.

Meanwhile, Abheer and the other children feel saddened and seek reassurance from Nishtha about Abhimanyu's decision. Nishtha assures them that whatever Abhimanyu decides will be in Abheer's best interest.

Abhimanyu enters the room, picks up Abheer, and goes downstairs. He asks Abheer if he wants to live with Akshara and Abhinav and extends his hand to Akshara after Abheer nods yes. Akshara and Abhinav are surprised but elated, and the Goenkas smile at Abhimanyu's generous choice. However, Manjari breaks down in tears, feeling sad for Abhimanyu.

Kairav tells Abheer to cut the cake as his wish is granted. Despite his inner turmoil, Abhimanyu maintains a brave facade for Abheer. Manish acknowledges Abhimanyu's sacrifice for his child's happiness, emphasizing that fathers can make sacrifices just like mothers. Abheer offers a piece of cake to Abhimanyu, apologizing for hurting him, and asks if he can call him Docman, as he will always be his best friend. Abhimanyu nods with a painful smile, suppressing his emotions. A phone call provides a momentary distraction, and Abhimanyu walks out.

Outside the house, Abhimanyu breaks down on the porch, overwhelmed by the pain and sadness.
