Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai adds another feather in its cap!

Rajan Shahi's popular show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has added another feather in its cap by becoming the longest running show on Star Plus.

So far, it's been Ekta Kapoor's iconic show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi which was known as the longest running show on Star Plus with 1833 episodes but now Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has broken the records and still going strong. An elated team of Yeh Rishta had a Havan on sets today and then celebrated the occasion with cake cutting and dancing.

When we contacted producer Rajan Shahi to hear more from him about the new milestone achieved by Yeh Rishta, he said, "Kyunki had been one of the most iconic shows that has happened in the Indian Television. Indian television is synonymous for Kyunki... and Ekta Kapoor so it's a good feeling that with the support of the channel and everyone, we have been able to follow the legacy."

"Indian television is known for its negativity and over the top drama. It feels good that even after more than 6 years, we have a show that talks about family, values, relationship and positivity. I think this is the most remarkable feature of Yeh Rishta everybody can connect to it because of its positivity. I think its difficult to run a show for so long only with positivity and to maintain the entire team together. Very few actors have been changed in the show over the years. Hina (Hina Khan) and Karan (Karan Mehra) are Television's jodi for the longest period of time. The credit goes to the entire team for working around," he adds.  

Talking about the celebration that happened today on sets, he shared, "It was a nice celebration on sets today. We had a cake cutting following by a Havan. Hina, the other senior actors, the crew members and everyone on sets did the signature step on the title track of Yeh Rishta. They have been doing it on every occasion and the ritual followed even today. It gave us a positive feeling together as a team."
