Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai 23rd September 2023 written update: Abhir is in serious danger

Tonight's Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai episode opens with a tense situation as a man threatens to harm Abhi's son unless they contact Abhimanyu (Harshad Chopda) immediately. Akshara (Pranali Rathod) and the others implore the man, trying to make him understand that Abhir is innocent. The man insists on knowing Abhi's whereabouts, and Aarohi reaches out to Abhi, putting the call on speaker. Anxious, Akshu formulates a plan and silently signals Abhir to close his eyes. Akshu pleads with the man to spare her son and then uses a spray to incapacitate him temporarily. In a fit of anger, the man fires his gun, causing everyone to take cover.

Manish takes charge of Akshu while Aarohi ensures Abhir's safety. Akshu desperately calls out to Abhir as the man locks them inside the room, leaving Abhir alone. In the midst of the chaos, they grow increasingly concerned about Abhir's whereabouts. Meanwhile, Abhi finds himself stuck at a traffic signal. A beggar approaches him, offering a blessing but also cryptically warning him that his family is in danger. Abhi kindly gives the beggar some money and continues his journey, anxiety gnawing at him.

Back at the hospital, Akshu confronts the man when she spots Abhir. Anand instructs them to locate Abhir using the hospital's CCTV, and Aarohi reaches out to the police for help. Rohan guides Anand to open a back door for the approaching police while Akshu tirelessly searches for Abhir. The man persists in calling for Abhir to come out.

Rohan monitors the hospital's CCTV footage, directing Mahima, who is in close proximity to Abhir, to head towards him. Manish and Aarohi assist the people in the hospital, while Rohan cautions Anand to hide since Prashant is closing in on their location. Prashant pressures Abhir to reveal himself, and the arrival of Manjiri and others adds to the tension.

The police block their way, but Manjiri offers to guide them to a rear exit. Kairav pleads to be allowed inside, but Surekha reassures him, urging faith in the police's capabilities. Akshu manages to signal to Abhir to hide, and he complies. She prays fervently, hoping to reunite with Abhir safely. Prashant continues his relentless pursuit of Akshu, demanding Abhir to come out. Tensions escalate, and suddenly, a siren wails in the background. With Prashant hot on their heels, Mahima takes Abhir's hand and flees. Akshu follows, hitting Prashant with a stretcher, allowing Mahima to escape. Grateful, Akshu thanks Mahima and instructs her to call the police.

Rohan attempts to contact Abhi but resorts to leaving a message, urgently informing him about the hostage situation unfolding at the hospital. Unbeknownst to them, Abhir checks his messages while fixing a flat tire on his car and is shocked by the distressing news. He rushes to the hospital without delay. At the hospital, Akshu and Abhir are determined to escape the difficult situation. Akshu even offers herself to the menacing man desperately to protect her son. Just as the situation reaches its breaking point, the police arrive, and Abhi races toward Akshu as the man fires a shot.
