With a Heavy Heart Sudhir Mishra Requested Everyone to Not Attend his Father's Funeral

Filmmaker Sudhir Mishra’s father Dr, Devendra Nath Mishra left for heavenly abode this morning. Remembering his dear dad's great works, Sudhir took to his social media account and shared the news with everyone. His post read: “My Dad Dr Devendra Nath Misra passed away this morning. A Lucknow boy,was many things. A Mathematician and went to become a Professor of Mathematics, Sagar University, Jt. Education Advisor, Mini of Education, Dep. Director CSIR, Head of MP Science n Technology and Vice. Chancellor BHU.”

His father was a founding member of the Lucknow Film Society.Hansal Mehta, Nikkhil Advani, among others offered condolences.

However, with a heavy heart, Sudhir had to request everyone to not attend the funeral as the country is currently under lockdown owing to the on-going coronavirus pandemic and has requested to everyone to be home and stay safe.

Since Sudhir could not be available on social media following the duties of a son that he had to perform during the last rites, filmmaker Anubhav Sinha shared his message and tweeted: "Sudhir Mishra Is overwhelmed with all your wishes and prayers. He understands you would like to be with him in this difficult time but looking at the present social restrictions he requests you all to not step out for the last rites this evening. Stay at home and stay safe."

Hansal Mehta tweeted, “Condolences Sudhirbhai.” Nikkhil Advani took to his Twitter and mourned the loss, “Terrible news regarding the passing away of a gentleman, visionary thinker and teacher. Most don’t realise the contribution of Sudhir’s parents to the film industry of today. They opened their house and hearts for all dreamers that walked into it. #RIPDNMishra @IAmSudhirMishra.”
