The first glimpse of Dhurandhar, Ranveer Singh’s upcoming spy thriller, dropped on Sunday, coinciding with the actor’s 40th birthday. While the teaser showcased power-packed visuals featuring actors like Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, and R Madhavan, one face quietly drew attention — Sara Arjun. A familiar name from the child acting circuit, Sara now makes her debut as a lead opposite Ranveer.
Born in 2005, Sara is the daughter of actor Raj Arjun. Her acting journey began early, at just one year old, when she was spotted in a mall and cast in her first advertisement. She became widely known after starring in Deiva Thirumagal (2011), where she played Vikram’s daughter. Her other credits include Ek Thi Daayan, Saivam, and Saand Ki Aankh, gradually cementing her status as one of India’s most promising child actors.
Sara’s biggest success came in 2022, when she appeared in Mani Ratnam’s epic franchise Ponniyin Selvan as the younger version of Aishwarya Rai’s character, Nandini. The two-part film grossed over Rs 800 crore worldwide. Following its massive success, reports from outlets like Gulte and Siasat estimated her net worth at Rs 10 crore, crowning her India’s richest child actor at the time.
Her transition to lead heroine arrives with Dhurandhar, a film helmed by Uri: The Surgical Strike director Aditya Dhar. While the narrative appears male-driven, Peeping Moon earlier reported that Sara’s role, though limited in screen time, is pivotal. The teaser briefly shows her dancing in a club, riding pillion with Ranveer’s character, and sharing an intimate moment with him.
Presented by Jio Studios and produced by B62 Studios, Dhurandhar is directed, written, and produced by Aditya Dhar, with Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar also backing the project. While speculation hints that the plot may draw inspiration from real-life Indian spy and NSA Ajit Doval, the makers haven’t confirmed details yet.
Sara’s presence in such a high-stakes project signals a new chapter for the young actor, who has grown up on film sets and is now poised for a full-fledged Bollywood career. Whether her role in Dhurandhar becomes a defining one remains to be seen, but the spotlight is firmly back on her.
