Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor’s two-year-long battle finally ended today, after he breathed his last on Thursday. The Kapoor family announced his sad demise with an official statement asking his fans that he’d want to be remembered with a smile, and not with a tear. 

After suffering from a prolonged illness, the actor succumbed to Leukemia. As the family is preparing for the actor's funeral, the family has been advised to not take his mortal remains home. 

 After his almost year-long stay in the US for Cancer treatment, the actor on his return to India caught up with his close ones from the industry. One of the latest memories was the late actor’s attendance at Ekta Kapoor’s Diwali bash last year. 

Initially scolding the paparazzi for making noise while asking him to pose as he exited Ekta Kapoor’s Diwali bash. 

He later makes them understand about the people residing in the vicinity might get disturbed and like always shall blame film stars for causing a ruckus.  Later he asks the paps to maintain decorum, he also smiling says they are nothing without media and vice-versa. He is heard saying, “Inke Baghair Hum Nahi Jee Sakte, Humar Baghair Ye Nahi Jee Sakte.”

Later the actor is seen waiting for the car, asking paps to allow him to reach his car.

Rishi Kapoor left for heavenly abode this morning at around 8:45 am IST. His last rites took place at the Chandanwadi crematorium in Marine Lines, Mumbai.

A few pictures of his family bidding him a final goodbye has been released.
