In an exclusive interview with India Forums, Karishma shared her thoughts about her character's journey, the show's leap, and her experience.

Were you saddened by the news of the leap and your character coming to an end?

I think I was neutral. We all knew that the show was gearing up for a generation leap, and the story needed to progress. I'm grateful for the opportunity to be part of the show. I shot my final episode yesterday, and to be honest, I didn't expect to feel sad. I've experienced many goodbyes in life. However, after my last take, I found myself in tears, not for the people but for my character. I couldn't help but wonder what would happen to Ruhi now. In real life, I'll continue to meet Hera, but I kept thinking about Ruhi. The positive aspect of my character's exit is that I have closure; Aarohi's journey has concluded. I won't have to wonder what Aarohi is doing now. The show began with a love-hate relationship with my sibling and underwent various transformations. I'm content with how it ended.

Do you agree that there's an uncanny resemblance between Aarohi and Ruhi?

Karishma: Absolutely. Many people, including my sister, have commented on how Hera and I look alike. Her smiles, facial features, and much more resemble me. Fans frequently mention this. People often praise DKP for casting parent-child duos who resemble each other.

The show started off with a love triangle between Aarohi, Akshara and Abhimanyu but underwent significant changes. Do you think your character was sidelined in the show?

Karishma: No, absolutely not. After the last generation leap on the show, my character was still prominently featured in the main montage with Abhimanyu and Akshara. The story post-leap also revolved around Ruhi, Abhimanyu, and me. However, it's essential to understand that the story eventually centers around the lead pair. I believe that's okay. I'm grateful to DKP for giving me the opportunity to play Aarohi. They provided me with a lot of material to work with as an actor. I enjoyed the single mother track. My character's journey had a beautiful start and end, and I'm grateful for it.

What will you miss the most about shooting for the show?

I'll miss many things. The set of the show felt like my second home. I'll miss the little things the most. On the last day of my shoot, my hairstylist hugged me with teary eyes. 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' was my first show, and before that, I was a flight attendant. This show was a dream come true for me.

Would you say that 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' gave you recognition as an actor?

Yes, it certainly did. Shows come and go, but being a part of a show for even two years is a significant achievement. With this show, every character receives equal recognition. So yes, I believe the show gave me recognition.

You mentioned you were a flight attendant before the show. Interestingly, Pratiksha, who will be playing Ruhi in the show, was also a flight attendant and is making her debut with 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai,' just like you.

(Laughs) Wow, I didn't know that. It's a lovely coincidence. I'd like to wish her all the best for the show. The character of Ruhi has multiple layers, just like Aarohi.

What kind of projects are you looking forward to now?

I want to take on challenging roles, and whatever I do, I want to give it my best.

Will you miss watching Karishma in the show?
