Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal stormed into theatres in December with a stellar cast, including Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Triptii Dimri, and Bobby Deol. Despite its box office success, the film faced criticism for its depiction of toxic masculinity and perceived misogyny.

Now, filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj has weighed in on the controversial film, expressing mixed feelings about it. In an interview with FirstPost, Bhardwaj admitted, "I have still not made up my mind what to feel about that film. Because I enjoyed it and at the same time I hated it."

Bhardwaj's ambivalence mirrors the intense debate surrounding Animal, which, despite its polarising reception, continues to draw large audiences, suggesting a persistent demand for such content.

Recently, filmmaker Sanjay Gupta, known for hits like Kaante and Kaabil, shared his positive views on the film after watching it for the second time. Taking to Twitter, Gupta praised the direction of Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Ranbir Kapoor's performance, applauding their hard work and dedication.

Animal delves into the complex dynamics of a toxic father-son relationship and boasts a 3-hour and 21-minute runtime, making it one of the longest Indian films ever made. The film's music, featuring tracks like Hua Main, Satranga, and Pehle Bhi Main, has also garnered significant acclaim.
