Vir Das to open Hardwell's gig in India

After completing his US tour, comedian-actor Vir Das is gearing up to open Dutch DJ Hardwell's music gig here.

DJ Hardwell, whose real name is Robbert van de Corput, will be performing here on Sunday. He will have his gig headlined by Vir's band Alien Chutney.

"I'm honoured and terrified at the same time. I'm honoured because the event is for charity and we are all doing this for a great cause to raise money for children and education. I'm terrified because I have to get a lakh EDM (Electronic dance music) fans to dance to comedy rock music," Vir said in a statement.

"Maybe people want to smile and laugh a bit before they dance through the night. I may have an EDM track up my sleeve too," he added.

"Rang De Basanti" fame actor Kunal Kapoor's online fund-raising space Ketto has joined hands with Hardwell to bring a change in the life of underprivileged children through a musical event.
