Vir Das' Hasmukh Lands in Trouble for Allegedly Maligning Lawyers; Plea in Delhi HC!
A Plea will be heard at the Delhi High Court today against Vir Das' Dark comedy series 'Hasmukh' for allegedly maligning the image of lawyers.

Vir Das' dark comedy series on Netflix 'Hasmukh' has been receiving great response from the audience. However, the series lands itself into trouble and a plea was registered against the series at the Delhi High Court for allegedly maligning the image and reputation of lawyers.
Advocate Ashutosh Dubey filed the plea against the show as in the 4th episode of the series, the lawyers were referred as thieves, scoundrels, goons and rapists. The plea is listed for hearing before Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva. His plea stated, "The remarks have caused utmost damage to the legal profession and impugned the image of lawyers in the eyes of millions of viewers/subscribers, who visit the streaming website where the show is being streamed."
It also seeks a permanent injunction from the airing of the series. He has also asked for an online apology by the directors, producers and the writers of the show for maligning the image of lawyer's community which also includes Judges, as they too have been lawyers at one point.
