Vikrant Massey on Taking a Break: "Main Kahin Nahi Jaa Raha Yaar"

Actor Vikrant Massey, who recently sparked speculation about his retirement, has clarified that he is only taking a much-needed break. Earlier this month, Vikrant shared a social media post announcing he would meet audiences "one last time" in 2025, "until time deems right." The post, which went viral, led many to believe he was stepping away from acting altogether. However, Vikrant has now explained his reasons for this decision.

In a recent roundtable with RJ Rohini, Vikrant revealed that he has been feeling "physically and mentally exhausted" after delivering four back-to-back films this year—Blackout, Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, Sector 36, and The Sabarmati Report. Reflecting on his journey, the 12th Fail star and Filmfare Award winner shared, “Ab mujhe aisa lag raha hai wahi same cheez main kar raha hun. Standards of good are so low, ki mere hisaab se jo average, below average hai woh logon ke liye good hai.”

The actor added, “I want to act for as long as I can. I want to keep that creative thing within me alive. Isiliye maine socha ki this is the right time for me.”

Vikrant also opened up about the impact of his hectic schedule on his personal life. Married to Sheetal Thakur and father to their son Vardaan, Vikrant shared, “Shaadi ki, biwi ke saath honeymoon pe nahi jaa paaye. Uske saath 3 mahine se zyaada baith nahi paaye. Beta hua, ‘papa’ mere peeth peeche usne kaha, chalna mere peeche shuru kiya, uske daant aaye main dekh nahi paaya. Videos pe, photos pe main usko bada hote hue dekh raha hun.”

The actor emphasized that while he loves his craft, he realized the importance of spending time with his family, traveling, and taking care of himself. “Life will go on, but I need to rest and recalibrate,” he said, adding, “Main kahin nahi jaa raha yaar.”

Currently, Vikrant is filming Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, which will also mark the Bollywood debut of Shanaya Kapoor, daughter of Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor.
