Vihan Verma claims facing discrimination on the sets of Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin

Vihan Verma gained widespread recognition following his appearance in Star Plus’s popular show Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin. Portraying the character of Mohit in the series alongside Neil Bhatt, Ayesha Singh, and Aishwarya Sharma, While talking to Showsha, Vihan has recently disclosed encountering bias during his time on the set of the well-known program.

When questioned about experiencing unfair treatment on the GHKKPM sets, Vihan informed Showsha, “To be honest, I wouldn’t say I was treated unfairly, but there were days when I felt certain situations could have been more in my favour if I were a senior actor. This is quite common. People always favour seniors over newcomers, and rightly so. However, there are times when you don’t expect someone to favour another person solely based on their age and seniority."

Vihan went on to reveal a surprising statement, stating that the protagonists of a program are commonly favored. “There’s always an extra inclination towards the lead pair. Because they’re the faces of the show, they shoot more days and hours than the rest of the cast. I faced a similar situation when I was made to wait in my room because one of the leads had a prior commitment and had to leave early, so the team was trying to wrap up their work first. While this is practical, it can be frustrating when you have your own personal commitments," he said.

Talking about his mental health, he said,"I’m very secure in my work. I don’t compare my status to someone else’s. Everyone has had their fair share of journeys, and we all deserve better days. So, no, this hasn’t affected my mental health in any way. It would take someone to stoop very low to hurt me mentally."

Recalling an incident, he said,"I came across a rumour that some of my scenes were cut because of one of the leads. Honestly, at that point, I was heartbroken because I was new to the show, and it’s challenging to establish yourself in a hit show where people have great dynamics. I didn’t clarify with the actor at that time, but I did much later. If something like this happens, where an actor has the authority to cut someone’s lines, I think the makers are to be blamed, not the actor. My contract is with the makers and the channel, not with any actor. So, if the makers agree to something so childish, it’s their fault, not the actor’s," he said.

Yet, Vihan wrapped up by expressing that the GHKKPM producers consistently assisted him and showed support. “The producers of the show were really nice to me throughout my time on the set. They were always respectful, and I had a positive experience working with them," he said.
