Vidya Balan: No One Can Be Blamed, Let Sushant Rest In Peace

Actor Vidya Balan is all set to turn into Shakuntala Devi in the biopic film, releasing on Amazon Prime Videos. During the recent round of interviews, Vidya opened up about Sushant Singh Rajput's unfortunate demise.

While speaking to CinemaExpress, Vidya said that forming theories and speculation around Sushant's demise is unfair to him and his loved ones. “With Sushant Singh Rajput passing away, people who felt wronged, ignored, there was a sense of identification with him,” she said.

In a shocking turn of events, Sushant died by suicide on June 14 2020 at his Bandra home. However, his tragic step has raised many questions to find out what may have pushed him to the edge of taking his own life. Professional rivalry and negligence within the showbiz has also come to the surface as one of the many reasons and Many A lister celebrities like Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt, Salman Khan, Sonam Kapoor Mahesh Bhatt among others are facing the wrath of trolls in connection to Sushant's suicide.

Talking about the same, Vidya reacted:

“Now the point is rightly or wrongly we do not know, because we do not know why he took the step he did. To show respect is to keep quiet. To speculate is... people can come up with all sorts of theories and that’s unfair to him more than anyone else, and his loved ones, who’re probably grieving.”

She went ahead to talk about her own struggles in the industry as she added:

“I’ve been through ups and downs and I’ve had all sorts of experiences in the industry. I am not saying nepotism does not exist, but I didn’t let that stand in my way. That said, everyone is different. It’s a tumultuous time and it really helps to talk to someone.”

Vidya concluded by saying: “But no one can be blamed if someone decides to take their own life. Let him really rest in peace.”
