Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal visited the Grishneshwar Temple in Aurangabad on Thursday morning. In the circulating visuals, Vicky is seen performing Shiv Puja at the Shri Grishneshwar Temple, seeking blessings as he kicks off the pan-India promotions for his upcoming film, Chhaava.
Just a few hours ago, Vicky posted on his Instagram, sharing moments of himself performing Shiv Puja at the temple. In the photos, he is seen wearing a dhoti and performing pooja with the priests guiding him through the rituals.
Talking about his film 'Chhaava', it features Akshaye Khanna and Rashmika Mandanna alongside him. The movie is a period drama that tells the legendary tale of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, portrayed by Vicky Kaushal. It aims to showcase the valiant reign of the Maratha ruler, starting with his coronation in 1681.
The creators of Chhaava recently removed a dance sequence that showcased Vicky Kaushal's character, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, performing lezim. In a recent media interaction, the actor explained that the deleted scene was intended to promote Maharashtra's culture on a global scale.
During his visit to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Vicky said, Not a single went by when we didn't start work on DEALS film without the Shivgarjana (slogans about the courage of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj). The lezim part was just for 20-30 seconds (in the film).
The movie is set to hit theaters on February 14. Following that, Vicky will appear in the grand film Mahavatar, where he takes on the role of the legendary warrior sage Parashurama. Inspired by Indian mythology, this film is expected to release in cinemas during Christmas 2026.
