Veteran filmmaker Mani Ratnam was recently admitted in the Apollo hospital Mumbai after he complained of cardiac problem. The filmmaker is currently kept under observation at Chennai's Apollo Hospital. The reports of the director's being admitted to the hospital was shared on the social media handle, and more details about the same are yet to come. 

This is not the first time when Ratnam suffered from cardiac issue. Mani Ratnam suffered heart attack first in the year 2004, on the sets of the movie Yuva. Almost a decade later, in the year 2015, the director had his second attack.

After 2015, news reports stated that Mani Ratnam had been hospitalized in 2018, for heart issue again. The hospital, however, asserted that he was admitted just for a routine check-up process after he complained of chest pain then. Hence, his latest incident is the fourth time he could have got a cardiac arrest. Lokesh Jey, representing a media house from Chennai confirmed the news by tweeting.

Mani Ratnam is known for his amazing works and contribution in the field of Indian cinema. He is popularly known for movies like Bombay, Roja, Dil Se, Guru, Yuva and many more. On the work front, the 63-year-old director is currently busy with  Ponniyin Selvan. The film is based on the novel of Amarar Kalki and revolves around the kingdom of Raja Raja Cholan.
