Childhood sweethearts Varun Dhawan-Natasha Dalal’s wedding was one of the most awaited events in Bollywood. The longtime lovers tied the knot earlier this year in February and hosted an intimate wedding ceremony at Alibaug’s The Mansion Resort. The Coolie No. 1 actor recently revealed why he kept the whole affair low-key, limited only to his family members and close friends.

For the 34-year-old actor and his childhood sweetheart, their wedding festivities echoed through Alibaug, and it was one of the most talked-about ceremonies across Bollywood. Apart from that, it was a pandemic wedding for them and extra precautions go were bound to be adopted.

Months after his wedding, Varun has finally spoke about his low-key wedding and said that he took a "responsible" decision about his wedding amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Varun Dhawan, who had contracted COVID-19 last year December, said: "We had to be responsible during this period and follow rules. I'm someone who didn't want to do something big, you've to respect whatever things have been put in place. I had elderly citizens from my family coming, and I wanted everyone to be safe, that's why it was low key."

The wedding ceremonies began with Varun’s bachelor party followed by their Mehendi, Haldi and sangeet ceremony. Owing to the current coronavirus situation around the globe, their nuptials saw the attendance of only 50 guests which included Karim Morani’s daughter Zoa Morani, Kunal Kohli, Karan Johar, Manish Malhotra etc.

The actor along with his childhood sweetheart were tight-lipped about their personal life. During a recent interaction, Varun spilled a few intimate details and added their low key wedding was a reflection of their personalities as well: "That's the kind of person I am, as far as my personal life is concerned. I'd rather keep it low-key, and also because Natasha isn't from this film line anyway. The full show-sha is too much, and this wasn't the time for that," Hindustan Times quoted the actor saying. 

Shortly after his wedding, Varun Dhawan resumed working for his upcoming projects.

In an interview with Kareena Kapoor, Varun Dhawan had said that it was a love at first sight kind of a situation for him when he saw Natasha Dalal for the first time. They even went to school together.
