New Delhi, April 18 (IANS) UTV Motion Pictures has tied up with Prime Focus, a global visual entertainment services group, to provide technical assistance to its projects and Akshay Kumar-starrer 'Joker' will be the first movie to be released under the alliance.
Under the new partnership, Prime Focus will take the responsibility of production and post-production of films produced by UTV. The work includes visual effects, digital intermediate, sound and lab services, as well as provision of cameras, lenses and more.
'UTV Motion Pictures' slate has been diverse and of very high technical standards. We have the best opportunity to bring out our entire service line up for UTV's future projects,' Namit Malhotra, global CEO and founder, Prime Focus, said in a statement.
Besides 3D technology, Prime Focus will also provide cameras, DI, VFX and other associated services.
Prime Focus' 3D was recently hired to work on 'Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace'. In the past, it achieved various 3D titles including 'The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of Dawn Treader' and 'Clash of the Titans'.
