Uorfi Javed takes a pause from crazy fashion: 'I think ab vo sab krne ki zarurat nhi hai'

Uorfi Javed, who often makes headlines for her bold and unconventional fashion choices, posted a deeply personal video on Instagram on 19th May. Known for her eccentric outfits often stitched with everyday items like flowers, glass pieces, or even safety pins, Uorfi surprised her followers by appearing in a modest peach salwar kameez with a soft blue dupatta.

The video, more than a change in appearance, reflected an emotional shift. Speaking candidly, Uorfi said, “Kya hua? Kuch aur expect kar rahe the? I know, tum log soch rahe the ki aaj kya crazy band kiya hoga – phool, patti, kaanch ke tukde, haters ke aansu... I know, I know.”

She continued, revealing a sense of internal change: “Woh fever hai. Tum bhi yahi soch rahe hoge ki kahan gaye woh experimental looks, crazy, creative art pieces? Aur honestly, main bhi yahi soch rahi hoon.”

In the video, Uorfi explained that someone spoke to her and left a deep impact. “He spoke to me. I mean like, usne sach mein mujhse baat ki. Aur pata nahi kya hua, par woh meri soch mein ghus gaya.” With evident vulnerability, she admitted that her need to express herself visually has shifted: “Jitna main pehle express karti thi, woh ab kam ho gaya hai... Mujhe lagta hai ab mujhe woh sab karne ki zarurat nahi hai.”

She hinted at a new phase in her life, saying, “Lekin ab lagta hai mujhe thoda pause lena chahiye. Kuch naya try karna chahiye. Kuch simple... Dekhte hain yeh phase kitni der rehta hai. Aur haan, yeh ek naya chapter hai.”

Her post, captioned “Everyone’s asking why I’m changing. What if I’m not the one changing?” received a flood of support from fans. One user commented, “Uorfi wearing salwar kameez is not less than any experiment,” while another wrote, “You are always amazing… kuch kar guzarne ki chah sabmein nahi hoti.

This comes days after her Cannes 2025 appearance came under scrutiny. Uorfi had shared her disappointment after her visa was denied. She also admitted her business venture didn’t perform as expected. Despite these setbacks, Uorfi affirmed she hasn’t lost faith in herself, marking her current journey as a pause, not a stop.
