Mumbai, Sep 16 (IANS) Actor Tusshar Kapoor is disappointed that a sequel to 'Kya Kool Hain Hum' is off for now but is upbeat about the second edition of his other comedy 'Golmaal'.

'I don't know what's happening to the sequel. Ekta and I were very excited about it. But Sangeeth Sivan isn't keen on doing a comedy. He now feels he's an action director.'

Tusshar perks up. 'But I'm doing the sequel to 'Golmaal' ... 'Phir Golmaal',' he says. He once again dons the role of a mute guy in the comedy's sequel.

In the meanwhile Sanjay Gupta's 'Shootout In Parliament', a sequel to 'Shooutout At Lokhandwala', is on the anvil. Tusshar's performance was appreciated in the former but he is yet to be cast in 'Shootout At Parliament'.

'I haven't been approached for it yet. But I'd love to do it yet,' he says,

However, the film's director Apoorva Lakhia and producer Sanjay Gupta have had a massive fall-out. Lakhia and Kapoor have become close friends after 'Shootout ...'.

The young actor confesses that he wasn't initially confident of essaying his gangster part in 'Shootout...', adding that Lakhia was extremely patient with him.

'Initially I didn't have the confidence to carry off the toughie's part in 'Shootout' ... I kept delaying. Apu (Lakhia) was very patient. Finally I defiantly took the plunge. I started rehearsing on my own. Once I was on the sets, I was fine. The set-up was so organised I never realised when the shooting started and ended.'

Despite initial glitches, Tusshar has managed to carve his own niche. 'I did go through some false starts. But unless you go through the grind you don't know what to avoid. The fact that my first film 'Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai' did well provided me with a comfortable position. Now I've six releases this year.'

Tusshar's latest is thriller 'Aggar' and he has a romantic comedy, 'Dhol', lined up. 'In 'Aggar' I'm a victim of circumstances and end up in a mental asylum. In 'Dhol' I let my hair down again.'

Tusshar has Shreyas Talpade for company in both the films. 'He's one guy I really like working with. He's uncomplicated and unassuming, just like me. I'm very uncomfortable with the filmy split personalities.'

But isn't he tired of doing the boisterous boys' comedies?

'Not really. I was offered Indra Kumar's 'Dhamaal', but couldn't do it. No regrets about losing out on it because 'Dhol' is a similar comedy coming up.
