Triptii Dimri, who garnered widespread acclaim for her performances in Bulbbul and Qala, recently opened up about her role in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal. The 2023 blockbuster, starring Ranbir Kapoor, achieved significant commercial success but stirred debates over its portrayal of toxic masculinity. Critics accused the film of being "anti-feminist," a label that Dimri addressed in a candid interview with Filmfare.

Reflecting on her decision to join the cast of Animal, Dimri revealed, "I never perceived the movie as 'anti-feminist' as it was a big film for me." She emphasized her focus on character-driven choices, stating, "I don’t categorize films with such labels." Dimri credited her deep connection with the characters in Qala and Bulbbul as her primary motivation, highlighting her trust in the directors' visions.

Discussing her experience working with Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Dimri shared that the director provided minimal details about the overall plot but delved deeply into her character’s arc. She found this approach intriguing, especially Vanga's vision of her character, which combined "innocence and kindness in her eyes" with a "deep sense of determination." Dimri described this contrast as both "challenging and compelling," a key factor in her decision to take on the role.

Dimri also expressed excitement at the opportunity to explore a different kind of character, marking a departure from the "goody" roles she had previously portrayed. "It was an exciting opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and embrace a new challenge," she remarked.

Acknowledging the allure of working on a big-budget production, Dimri noted that Animal offered valuable insights into large-scale filmmaking, a significant shift from her previous projects. "The experience was a learning curve," she said, expressing enthusiasm for the scale of the production while reaffirming her passion for intimate, character-driven narratives.

On the professional front, Triptii Dimri had a prolific year in 2024. She starred opposite Vicky Kaushal in Bad Newz, collaborated with Rajkummar Rao for Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, and joined Kartik Aaryan in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Looking ahead, she is set to feature alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi in Dhadak 2.
