Tragedies that hit the small screen in 2014!

We list the unfortunate events that took place in this year.

2014 was an amazing year for our television industry like this year we got to see many new shows coming up, many new faces who won many hearts and more. But as it is said that there are always two sides of coins and so our even our television industry faced many unfortunate events too.

Let's see which are the unlucky incidents -

Udann

Spandan Chaturvedi who is currently seen as Chakor in show Udann on Colors was recently admitted to the hospital. The show completed 100 episode and so the entire cast and crew was celebrating the occasion. All the kids stood on a marble top table and due to the weight, one the table tilted a bit and Spandan injured herself. Thus her leg muscles was torn and she was immediately taken to the hospital. She however, recovered from the injury and resumed shooting.


Rakesh Deewana who was seen as Maharaj in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai on Star Plus passed away on April 2014. He was aged 48. He went through a weight loss surgery on April 23 and after the surgery Due to some complication, he was shifted to the ICU and on April 27, he passed away.


Popular show Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus faced a scary moment when an Air Conditioner  blasted because of which two technicians were badly injured. It was an Iftaari break and when others heard the loud noise of the blast, everyone rushed to find out what had happened. Anas Rashid and Neil Bhatt helped the the females to get their things from their make-up room as the incident took place in a female's make-up room.


Balaji Telefilm's popular show Ye Hai Mohabbatein on Star Plus faced an unfortunate incident as on the next day of Diwali festival, a godown located near the set of Ye Hai Mohabbatein caught fire and owing to which the set was gutted with fire which damaged the entire Bhalla house. Not only Bhalla house was damaged but it also caused damage to Balaji Telefilms' other show Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi on Colors. All the costumes which were designed for the marriage sequence were burned causing a huge loss to the cast and crew.


Comedy Nights with Kapil aired on Colors also faced an unfortunate as the set of the show caught massive fire. The entire set was gutted into fire which damaged their property. The entire cast and crew panicked as they were left with no set to shoot. Later they managed to shoot at the other sets till the time their original set was rebuilt.


Lotus Business Park situated at Andheri caught fire which brought two popular shows Ye Hai Mohabbatein and Comedy Nights with Kapil's edit to a halt. As the fire was massive, the officials ordered to clear the nearby areas and the editing rooms of the shows situated near Lotus Business Park building was destroyed and a huge losses were incurred.


Popular show Jamai Raja aired of Zee TV's set was gutted with fire in the morning. The reason for the fire was electric short circuiting but there was no loss or damage of life. Soon the fire was extinguished but damaged the set.
