Tortured by Husband, Singer Sushmitha Commits Suicide by Hanging Herself

Sandalwood singer Sushmitha, 26, committed suicide in Bengaluru on Monday morning. The playback singer crooned for various Kannada films including 'Haalu Thuppa' and 'Srisamanya'.

As per a Times of India report, Sushmitha committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence. The report adds that she took the drastic step due to torture by the husband.

Sushmitha was married to Sharat Kumar, and a case has been registered by Annapoorneshwari Nagara police.

Reportedly, the young singer had even sent a message to her mother on WhatsApp before she ended her life.

This unfortunate incident has left Sushmitha’s friends and family in shock, who have expressed their distress on social media.
