Tom Hanks, who was working on a movie about the life of Elvis Presley in Australia is diagnosed with coronavirus along with his wife, Rita Wilson.
“We felt a bit tired like we had colds, and some body aches,” the Academy Award-winning actor said in a statement. “Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers, too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the coronavirus, and were found to be positive.” The actor added that they will be tested, observed and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires.
“Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no?” said the actor.

On Thursday morning, the cast and crew of the film received an email instructing them to stay away from the set after a member of the production team tested positive for the virus.

In a video posted to Instagram Chet Hanks, the couple’s son said he’d spoken to his parents.
“What’s up everyone, um, yeah it’s true my parents got coronavirus. Crazy,” he said. “I just got off the phone with them, they both are fine, they’re not even that sick, they’re not worried about it, they’re not tripping, but they’re going through the necessary health precautions obviously.
He added, “I don’t think it’s anything to be too worried about, I appreciate everyone’s concern and the well wishes but I think it’s all going to be alright.”
The production company also spoke about the same. “The health and safety of our company members is always our top priority, and we are taking precautions to protect everyone who works on our productions around the world,”
For the unversed, 60 people have been tested positive in India for the virus. 3 are reported to have recovered.
