Filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihortri's movie, The Kashmir Files has been in the news for the longest time now. And yesterday was the movie's first day at the box office, which seems to have been an absolute success for the entire team as it has opened up to strong numbers, despite the limited screens.
The Kashmir Files features Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumar, Pallavi Joshi, among others, in pivotal roles. Produced by Zee Studios, the film depicts the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits during the Kashmir Insurgency.
The movie has raked in a strong earning of ₹ 4.25 Cr worldwide and ₹ 3.55 Cr in India. In addition, trade experts also suggest a stronger growth for the movie in the days to come, and everyone seems to be more than delighted with the feat that movie has achieved.
Vivek shared the number on social media as well, and he wrote, ''A new beginning. A new revolution. Started by a very small film with the biggest tragedy of the oldest civilisation. Gratitude to every Indian.''
Meanwhile, Radhe Shyam, featuring Prabhas and Pooja Hegde also hit the theatres just yesterday and the collection has been rather disappointing with the fans and critics giving the film mixed reviews. The films released in theatres just yesterday and hours after the release, they were also leaked online by piracy website TamilRockers.
