The Great Indian Kapil Show: Govinda reveals how Shilpa Shetty ruined his track record with actresses

Govinda, Chunky Panday and Shakti Kapoor were guests on The Great Indian Kapil Show and it was a hoot. Govinda as we know was one of the top stars of the late 80s and 90s. The actor made a statement that should warm the hearts of everyone. Govinda said the credit of his success should go to his heroines and the songs in his movies. He felt they did most of the work for him. He then went on to reveal his staggering record with every leading lady. And it is something every actor will envy.

The star said he has 12 superhit films with actresses like Neelam Kothari, Karisma Kapoor and Raveena Tandon. Govinda said he had six hit movies with Juhi Chawla. But he said his movies with Shilpa Shetty did not see box office success. However, all the songs of the movies were superhit, and he still dances on the same at events. Shakti Kapoor also said that Govinda was one actor who was never unsure of his lines or screen time in a movie.

Shakti Kapoor said he often told his directors that a certain dialogue would be more suitable on someone else in a film than him. Kapoor said some of his iconic lines from their films were initially written for Govinda. When Kapil Sharma asked Govinda who did filmmakers manage to make him work on so many films in a year, he said the lure was money. Chi Chi also hinted that he had to shoulder financial responsibility of his entire clan on the show.
