Salman Khan is known for his wit, and he brought it along as the first guest on the upcoming season of The Great Indian Kapil Show, which returns with Season 3 on Netflix. In a new promo released by the platform, Khan is seen taking a subtle and humorous dig at the box office performance of his latest film Sikandar.
During a segment where a group of lookalike performers enters the stage—one of them mimicking Salman himself—Khan engages with them in a friendly tone. After asking, “Is your job and work going well?” he followed it up with a tongue-in-cheek comment, “Sikandar ki vajah se fark toh nahi pada na?” The moment drew laughter from the audience and seemed to be taken in good spirit, but it also pointed to the underwhelming response Sikandar received in theatres.
The Great Indian Kapil Show has built a reputation for mixing comedy with celebrity banter, and Khan’s comment added to that tradition. While not harsh, the remark acknowledged what many trade analysts have been discussing: Sikandar's performance at the box office did not meet expectations.
The film, released on Eid 2025, was considered a key comeback opportunity for Khan after the lukewarm reception of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan the previous year. Despite the festive release window, Sikandar earned only Rs 104 crore, which is relatively low for a Salman Khan-led Eid release.
The episode marks Khan’s return to the Kapil Sharma stage, a space where he has often shared candid moments and banter over the years. With the show’s new season gearing up to bring more celebrity interactions, this particular episode sets the tone for what’s to come.
Netflix is expected to release the episode soon as part of Season 3’s premiere, and the promo has already sparked conversations across social media, especially among fans of the actor and followers of Bollywood’s box office trends.
