Story so far: We as humans take many things for granted in our life. What happens when we take the things granted suddenly vanish- is the story of Star Plus's new offering Tere Sheher Mein'. Rishi Mathur (Sachin Tyagi), a rich and affluent businessman loves to pamper his three daughters, Rachita (Anjum Faikh), Amaya (Hiba Nawab) and Jasmine (Isha Mishra) with expensive gifts and lavish lifestyle, but his wife Sneha (Gautami Kapoor) doesn't approve of unnecessary money expenditure. She thinks that Rishi is spoiling the girls with money, where they don't value it. Rishi on the other hand believes in enjoying each day without a care about tomorrow and this leads to constant arguments between husband and wife. Amaya has completed her studies in Paris and the entire Mathur family goes to Paris to bring Amaya back home. Amaya shares a special bond with her father and considers him as her 'Superman'.

They are having a gala time in Paris when Rishi receives a call from his trusted friend and assistant Hari, informing about a major business failure which results in financial crisis. Rishi tries to ward off the tension, in the company of his daughters and wife. Once they return, the severity of the situation hits him hard when he is told that, he has to pay 100 crores in just two days. Hari supports him at every step. Due to this, Rishi decides to pre-pone elder daughter Rachita's engagement with Rohan Grewal. Sneha is not happy with this sudden change and asks Rishi the reason, to which Rishi who till now never rose a voice in front of her, screams at her. At the engagement, a reporter receives the news of Rishi's bankruptcy. After the engagement party, everyone is exhausted but there is hidden excitement in the air...the reason coming Father's Day'. Girls are planning a surprise for their father, but instead Rishi surprises them by taking a day off from office. He wants to spend some time with girls to avoid disaster waiting to happen in the office. He asks Hari to settle things in the office.

While Rishi is eager for the company of his daughters, they in return are busy planning Father's Day' behind his back. At home Rishi comes across a news article in the paper, declaring bankruptcy of a known businessman'. Sneha catches him in a pensive mood and asks for the reason but Rishi pretends everything to be ok. Everyone in the family act as if they are busy with some or the other plans that leaves Rishi brooding alone. Rishi gets emotional and tells Sneha how much he loves her and thanks her for her love and support at every step of his life. Sneha is puzzled at this sudden behaviour. Her instincts tell her that something is bothering Rishi tremendously but she can't make out the reason behind it. Finding everyone busy, Rishi decides to go to office. At office, he receives a warm welcome from his employees as they received their bonus from the Boss. Hari scolds Rishi for this.

Rishi gets blackmailed by a publication house editor, who asks money to hold the information regarding his downfall. Rishi refused to get pressurised by him. Rishi puts a brave front in the matter of crisis and tries to cheer up Hari. At home all the girls and Sneha are excitedly waiting for Rishi's arrival. But instead of directly coming home, Rishi have a drinking session with Hari. Amaya is upset with Rishi for not coming home early and Sneha tries to pacify her. Sneha calls Hari to check and when she comes to know that Rishi has already left Hari's home but hasn't reach home, she gets panicked. As Hari is talking with Sneha, he gets arrested for conspiracy and loan fraud. Sneha after hearing this realizes what was bothering Rishi for last few days.  At the police station, she confronts Hari about the things hidden from her. Meanwhile, police informs Sneha that they have found Rishi's abandoned car, with no trace of Rishi. This makes Sneha more alarmed.

What works: The three girls with their fresh, trendy attires keeping up with the latest fashion describe their lavish lifestyle. Rachita's OCD, Amaya's shopping fetish and Jasmine's studious nature- make them distinct from each other. Sachin Tyagi is the new role model for small screen's Father' figures. With his handsome looks and easy attitude, he represents current generation Dad superbly. Gautam Gadgil Kapoor has already proved her mettle as an actress and this too she doesn't disappoint the viewers as loving, caring, practical Sneha'. The story is unique. Production values are high... (Paris visit in the first few episodes!) And cast is impeccably in place.

What doesn't work: With latest technology and gadgets at hand, plus with all their page 3 acquaintances, how the girls or even Sneha couldn't get hint of Rishi's bankruptcy in advance is a mystery. Also, how being a modern woman, Sneha can be completely unaware of husband Rishi's monetary things?

Our take: When everything is going hunky dowry, life can take a cruel turn. The subject has a different feel to it. Person's true calibre can be measured during the time of crisis. Sneha, Rachita, Amaya and Jasmine, how they will handle the unexpected challenge will tell us about their own potentials. Script is fresh and fast moving. Hiba Nawab as Amaya with her youthful freshness symbolizes present brand savvy generation completely. Gautami as stricken wife and mother suits the bill. Overall, this show is worth watching for its superb story telling capacity and easy yet interesting flow.
