Taapsee Pannu's new age thriller Dobaaraa slated for a theatrical release on August 19

Taapsee Pannu is hot on the heels right now. Following the buzz of her upcoming film Shabaash Mithu, the actress is now promoting another project. We're talking about Dobaaraa, her third film with movie director Anurag Kashyap following Manmarziyaan and Saand Ki Aankh.

The film is described as a new age whodunit. And now, according to the latest announcement, the film has a release date. Dobaaraa, starring Taapsee Pannu, is set to release on August 19 this year. To be clear, the film was announced last year. 

Dobaaraa will also see Taapsee reunite with Pavail Gulati, in addition to Anurag Kashyap. Taapsee and Pavail previously co-starred in Anubhav Sinha's Thappad in 2020, and their chemistry drew a lot of attention. The forthcoming film is a ruthless cliffhanger with an edgy core and a chilling vibe. Dobaaraa is a co-production between Ekta Kapoor's Cult Movies and Sunir Khetarpal's ATHENA, and is helmed by Anurag Kashyap.

Taapsee had previously expressed her delight at working with Anurag Kashyap and shared photos from the set. She captioned the post as, “My #DobaaraaSeries Coz some collaborations deserve to be repeated..Ready to create more memories because we were running out of Manmarziyaan stories to tell..@anuragkashyap10 let’s do this #Dobaaraa”.

Apart from Dobaara, Taapsee will be seen in Srijit Mukherji's Shabhaash Mithu, playing a cricketer. She will also be a part of Blurr, her first production venture. Gulshan Devaiah will also feature in the film, which is a Bollywood remake of the Spanish film Julia's Eyes. That's not all. In Rajkumar Hirani's Dunki, Taapsee will collaborate for the first time with Shah Rukh Khan.
