PVR Pictures is releasing the Hollywood film in India Sep 6 in three languages, apart from English.

The distributors were on the lookout for a voice that would go well with Sackhoff's character, and the search eventually stopped at Taapsee.

Confirming the development, Taapsee said in a statement: "Yes, I have been approached by PVR to dub for the India release of 'Riddick' in three languages. They have asked me to dub for Katie Sackhoff, who plays the female lead alongside Vin Diesel."

"This will be a first for me, hoping that I will be able to do it given the fact that I have a packed shoot schedule till end of this month," added the actress, who has featured in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam movies, and made her Bollywood debut with David Dhawan's "Chashme Baddoor" earlier this year.

Written and directed by David Twohy, "Riddick" is said to be packed with breathtaking battle sequences. The last film of the franchise released in 2004.
