After becoming the first Indian to win the Miss Universe title in 1994, Sushmita Sen made a dazzling debut in the movies. She starred in a number of successful films before taking a nearly ten-year vacation from the industry.
Sushmita Sen opened up about a lot of topics in a recent interview with Sucharita Tyagi, including why she opted to make her comeback after over a decade with a web series rather than a popular Bollywood film.
Sushmita Sen admitted that Bollywood was not providing her with the type of roles she desired, which is one of the reasons she chose a web series. The actress believes that the ten-year break clarified her objectives and revealed what she needed to concentrate on.
The Aarya actress went on to say that mainstream cinema has a lot of preconceived beliefs about her age and 10-year difference. In fact, Sushmita admitted that she isn't very good at networking, which has resulted in her missing out on possibilities.
Talking about her work front, Sushmita Sen’s last film before her break from acting was the 2010 comedy Dulha Mil Gaya, which also starred Fardeen Khan along with Shah Rukh Khan in a special appearance.
She returned to acting with the Disney+ Hotsta'sr web series Aarya in 2020. Her comeback through the OTT platform was loved by everyone and it wouldn’t be wrong to say that she has still got the charm to pull the audience towards her. In between her film career, Sushmita also raised her two daughters, Renee and Alisah. Previously, she was in the news after announcing her breakup with long-term boyfriend Rohman Shawl.
