The drug probe in Sushant Singh Rajput’s case has seen explosive developments after several A-List Bollywood actresses including Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor, and Rakul Preet Singh were summoned for questioning by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). Meanwhile, actress Rhea Chakraborty continues to remain in Byculla jail.
Now, recent reports suggest that amid the recent developments in SSR’s case NCB chief has arrived in Mumbai from Delhi. According to IANS He is reported to have met several officers investigating the case and has also briefed on the two drug cases NCB registered last month after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) informed the agency about alleged drug-chats of Bollywood stars. He also took the rundown of the latest developments in the case by the NCB's SIT.
Meanwhile, another Republic report suggests that the NCB chief accompanied by Joint Director Sameer Wankhede has spoken with the NCB Mumbai team and is allegedly analyzing the evidence gathered till date in the case.
Furthermore, the report also quoted NCB sources who informed that DG Rakesh Asthana has signaled a green light for the crackdown on the drug nexus in Bollywood & has reportedly given the agency 6 months' time to file the charge sheet in the ongoing Bollywood-drug link probe. The Republic report also mentioned that NCB has 20 high-profile drug peddlers in their radar.
The NCB has not given a clean chit to Bollywood A-listers who were summoned and questioned by the agency. Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor's mobile phones have also been seized, stated the sources.
