Suriya's cameo in Vikram called attention after director Lokesh Kanagaraj and the film's leading man, actor Kamal Haasan, talked about it. Surya's look from the movie, which also features Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil, was presented by Lokesh on Wednesday.
Vikram will be released on Friday, and fans on social media have expressed their excitement for Suriya's role in the action thriller. Vikram will be Kamal Haasan's first film in the past 4 years. It's his first time working with Lokesh as well.
Lokesh revealed a new poster, thanking Suriya for his cameo in Vikram, which featured a glimpse of Suriya's character from the film. “Thank you so much Suriya sir for this,” Lokesh wrote, along with the poster, which revealed only half of Suriya’s face.
Kamal shared his pleasure about working with Suriya on a recent talk show on Vijay TV.
“We had been talking about making a film with Suriya at Raaj Kamal for a long time. And when I asked him for Vikram, he immediately agreed to it. It all just happened over a phone call. By the time when I went to meet him on the sets, he had already finished shooting for the film and was leaving to catch another flight. That’s when I said ‘thank you to him,” he said.
Suriya's "last-minute" presence in the film, according to Kamal, has opened up the possibility of expanding Vikram's universe. According to trade sources, the film has done the most pre-release business in Kamal Haasan's career, with over 200 crore in earnings, including business done in all languages combined.
Vikram, written and directed by Lokesh, will be released in theatres globally on June 3rd.
