The wait is almost over! Sunny Deol’s much-anticipated action thriller Jaat is all set to hit the big screens on April 10, 2025. The film, which marks the Hindi directorial debut of renowned Telugu filmmaker Gopichand Malineni, promises high-octane drama, action-packed sequences, and a powerful storyline. But ahead of its release, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has made several changes to the film, granting it a UA 16+ certification.

As per reports, a total of 22 changes were implemented by the CBFC to make the film suitable for a broader audience. Several cuss words were replaced with milder terms, including the replacement of a strong abusive word with “Madarjaat” and others like “Nikamma” and “Besharmo”. Additionally, the word “Bharat” was changed to “Hamara”, while “Central” was replaced with “Local” in certain dialogues.

The CBFC also made substantial visual edits. A scene showing a female police officer being humiliated was cut short by 40%, and a molestation scene involving a male inspector was trimmed by the same percentage. A violent visual of a body being cut was reduced by 30%, and all instances of e-cigarette usage were removed completely.

In terms of CGI and graphic visuals, around 10 major edits were done. These include the removal or replacement of throat-slitting scenes, a bloodied head on ice, a baby being mishandled, Indian currency shown disrespectfully, and the depiction of the national emblem on a character’s forehead during a fight. The total trimmed duration stands at 2 minutes and 6 seconds, while 1 minute and 37 seconds of fresh scenes were added to balance the narrative.

The final runtime of Jaat clocks in at 2 hours, 33 minutes, and 31 seconds. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory, the film features Sunny Deol in a powerful lead role, with Regina Cassandra playing the female lead and Randeep Hooda as the formidable antagonist. The cast also includes Vineet Kumar Singh, Saiyami Kher, Ramya Krishnan, and Jagapathi Babu in key supporting roles. Jaat is all set to hit the big screens on 10th April, 2025 ie. tomorrow.
