Sunny Deol Returns in Jaat 2: Director Teases Bigger Family Drama and Entertainment

Sunny Deol’s action film Jaat hit the big screens on April 10, 2025, and soon after its release, fans received a big surprise. The actor officially confirmed the sequel, Jaat 2. Now, director Gopichandh Malineni has opened up about what audiences can look forward to in the next chapter of this massy entertainer.

While speaking to Bollywood Hungama, the director shared exciting details. When asked if the script of Jaat 2 is ready, Gopichandh replied that it will take some time. But he assured fans that the film will offer even more drama. “However, it’ll have more action, more emotion, and more entertainment than Jaat,” he said.

He also revealed a new element in the story – Sunny Deol’s family angle. The director mentioned, “This time, we’ll also have the family angle.” According to him, the film will showcase Sunny’s family in a fresh light and he hopes the audience will connect with this emotional layer.

However, fans might need to be patient. Gopichandh also confirmed that the work on Jaat 2 will only begin in 2026. So, there’s still time before we see Sunny back in that rugged look.

The announcement of Jaat 2 was made by Sunny himself on Instagram. He shared a poster featuring the film’s title and team, with the caption, “#Jaat on to a New Mission! #Jaat2.”

Earlier, in Pinkvilla’s masterclass, Sunny Deol also hinted about the sequel. He had said, “And definitely ek picture chalegi aur woh character logon ko accha lagega and jo cheezein pasand aayi tabhi uska part 2 banta hai nahi toh nahi ban sakta.”

Jaat featured Sunny Deol in a powerful role, battling Randeep Hooda’s villainous character. The film also starred Vineet Kumar Singh, Regina Cassandra, Saiyami Kher, and Swaroopa Ghosh.

The movie was backed by Naveen Yerneni and Ravi Shankar from Mythri Movie Makers, along with TG Vishwa Prasad from People Media Factory. With the sequel promising more family drama and thrilling action, fans surely have a lot to look forward to.
