Suniel Shetty reveals daughter Athiya Shetty has QUIT Bollywood: 'This industry wasn't something that..'

Athiya Shetty, daughter of actor Suniel Shetty, has made a clear decision to move away from the world of films. Her father Suneil recently confirmed in an interview that she has no plans to return to acting. According to Suniel, Athiya simply told him she didn’t want to continue, and that was the end of it.

“She just said, ‘Baba, I don’t want to,’ and she stopped. That’s it,” he shared. Suniel praised her honesty and courage in making the choice, especially when more film offers were coming her way after her last movie, Motichoor Chaknachoor. “She was clear about not wanting to pursue it any further. She’s content with her life now,” he added.

Suniel also mentioned that Athiya is now enjoying a very different phase of life. She recently became a mother and is fully focused on raising her child. “She’s playing the most important role of her life now — being a mom. That’s the best film she could be in,” he said with pride.

This isn’t the first time Suniel has spoken about Athiya’s choice. In a past conversation with News18, he mentioned how she had worked hard in her acting career but decided it wasn’t the path for her. “After doing Motichoor, she felt this industry wasn’t something she wanted to be part of,” he said.

Athiya made her debut in 2015 with Hero, a romantic drama that was a remake of a popular film from the 1980s. Although the movie received mixed feedback, her presence was noticed. She later starred in Mubarakan (2017), a comedy about twins separated at birth. Despite a promising start, Athiya kept a low profile in the following years, choosing fewer projects and staying away from the spotlight.

Today, Athiya seems happy with her decision to step away from acting. While she may no longer be on screen, she’s embracing her personal life and motherhood, a role she finds truly fulfilling.
