Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty made his debut in the film industry with the movie 'Balwaan' in 1992. Over the course of his career spanning more than three decades, he has been a part of many memorable films. However, there was a notable incident early in his career that he recently recalled during an interview.

After the release of his debut film, a critic wrote a review suggesting that Suniel Shetty should go back home and sell idlis. This comment was not received well by the actor. Despite the criticism, Shetty's debut film turned out to be a huge hit, establishing him as an action hero and gaining acceptance from the audience.

In the interview, Shetty expressed his disappointment over the unfair criticism he received. He mentioned that every aspiring actor believes they have the potential to become the next Amitabh Bachchan, a legendary Indian actor, and he was no exception. The comment about selling idlis was particularly hurtful to him, as it undermined his aspirations and the success he had achieved with his debut film.

Apart from discussing the criticism he faced, Shetty also talked about the challenges he encountered during his early years in the film industry. He mentioned that this was a time when the underworld had a significant presence in Mumbai. As a result, he received threatening phone calls. However, instead of backing down, Shetty chose to respond with verbal abuse. Even the police advised him against such actions, considering it risky. But Shetty firmly believed that he had done nothing wrong and demanded protection from the police while maintaining his stance.

Furthermore, Shetty revealed that he has not shared many of his experiences with his family, including his children Ahan and Athiya. He kept his children unaware of the challenging situations he faced, the injuries he sustained, and how he managed to heal himself.

The actor further mentioned that he will soon be shooting for the highly anticipated third installment of the 'Hera Pheri' franchise. The iconic comedy series features Suniel Shetty alongside Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar. The news of the film going on floors has generated anticipation among fans, as the previous films in the franchise have been immensely popular.
