Veteran film producer and chairman of Rajshri productions, Raj Kumar Barjatya left for heavenly abode this morning. He breathed his last at Mumbai's Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital. He is survived by a son, filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya and wife Sudha.

The official Twitter handle of Rajshri Films' announced the sad news: "It is with profound grief that we mourn the loss of Raj Kumar Barjatya, father of Sooraj Barjatya. May his soul Rest In Peace."

Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh too expressed shock and offered condolences. He tweeted, "Shocked and saddened to learn of Rajkumar Barjatya ji's demise... Raj Babu - as he was affectionately called - was an extremely soft-spoken person... Heartfelt condolences to Sooraj, the Barjatya family and #Rajshri parivaar."
