The day 1 of Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2017 was a display of sari extravaganza in different forms and drapes. The collection that included creations from some top-notch designers like Manish Malhotra, Payal Singhal, Suneet Verma, Rahul Mishra, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla among many others, was an absolute treat for all the sari fanatics.

Sari quite literally depicts Indian culture and the same is a staple in our Indian TV shows. Over the years, we have witnessed a monotony that as soon as the female protagonist of a show gets married, without a second thought she is draped into a sari. What follows is the actress sports a plain sari and a boring old blouse design that we will be treated with, everyday.

However, we could not be more thankful that the obsession with tacky and cheap borders paired with cap-sleeves has ended.

Times have changed and now television has jumped on the bandwagon of the 'shoulder baring trend', where anything and everything is either bardot or cold-shoulder silhouette, credits to the boom of this trend in the retail world.

To break out of the rut, we have some 6-yards of sexiness paired with a unique twist from the day 1 of Amazon India fashion show, that we would love to see on the following actresses...

To begin with, we would love to see Maya (Jennifer Winget) from 'Beyhadh' donning a printed sari. And she, of all the people we know, can surely enjoy the luxury of flaunting a waist-baring drape like this one...

Dr. Sonakshi Bose (Erica Fernandes) has become a real fashionista lately and continuing the same, we are sure that she would slay a professional sari ensemble like this.

We have already witnessed the stylish facets of Shagun (Anita Hassanandani) from 'Yeh Hai Mohabbatein'. Adding to her elite wardrobe, she can totally rock a heavy embellished sari with equally embellished blouse.

Considering the pastel color of this sari combo, we think it would seamlessly blend into Anika's (Surbhi Chandna) already impressive wardrobe in Ishqbaaaz.
