Star Plus back to the #1 position; pushes COLORS to 2nd place

Star Plus is back with a bang, as it becomes the #1 GEC as per the latest ratings...

Star Plus is now again the #1 General Entertainment Channel, as per the latest ratings that have come out today!!

COLORS had earlier pushed Star Plus from its #1 position, and had been having an easy ride at the top for many weeks. But now, Star Plus is back with a bang as they top the GRP chart with 300 points, while COLORS takes the second position with GRP of 286. Zee TV is placed third with a GRP of 246.

The launches of the relatively new shows like Behenein from Hats Off Productions and Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya, coming from Spellbound Productions have really worked in Star Plus' favour. Rajan Shahi's Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Sapna Babul Ka.. Bidaai have jumped up the ladder yet again in ratings, and this has made a big difference to the channel's GRP. Shows like Sajan Ghar Jaana Hain and Sabki Laadli Bebo have been consistent when it comes to ratings, and lot is now expected from their new launch Sasural Genda Phool.

As per the recent ratings, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai emerges as the #1 show across all channels, with an average rating of 7.1. Sapna Babul Ka Bidaai which had seen a drop in the last few months has again gained momentum, and has registered an average rating of 6.9. Behenein has an average of 3.4 and Pratigya has a rating of 3.3. Sabki Laadli Bebo has an average of 3.2, while Sajan Ghar Jaana Hai has garnered an average of 2.9.

When asked about regaining the #1 position again, Anupam Vasudev, Executive Vice-President, Marketing – Star India PVT Ltd said, "We do not think that leadership is a weekly game, and are committed to consistently creating great content. We are happy that Star Plus viewers love the current exciting line-up of shows like Yeh Rishta, Bidaai & Sabki Ladli Bebo, while appreciating the new shows like Pratigya, Behenein and Sasural Genda Phool. Star Plus has always been known for its superlative story-telling and our shows depict the changes that are taking place in the society today, with a healthy dose of realism, optimism, social concerns, edginess, and humour".

With a lot more changes expected in the programming line-up of Star Plus, one can clearly say that Star Plus is back on track now to give a healthy competition to the other popular GEC's.

yeah star came to number one , but what about SGP? I think all the other serilas are just Bakwaas , the only Kaam Ka serial is SGP , I dont who does these ratings and who watces those boring serials

hahahahahah enjoy your short lived success SP...ending Balaji shows and Ba Bahu Aur Baby is just the beginning of the downfall....I hope Colors and Zee beat this crappy channel and shows its true place..enough with the dumb RS shows...I hate Bidaii and Yeh Ristha......and indian audiences prefer this crap to awesome shows on Sony produced by YRF?? epic fail

STar Plus is lucky it got Rajan Shahi after the reign of K serials were over .. Bidai and YRKKH are top quality serials .. there is no doubt about that but they are running out of ideas and .... there is a limit to the tears Ragini,Sadhana and Akshara can shed ..
To be honest , Bidai , YRKKH is old wine in a new bottle ..ANd Star Plus's other Serials are the same ... They are not outstanding .. they are mediocure ...In order to stay at Top , Star have to bring out new and different shows not the same stuff as in Behnein,Pratigya,Bebo over and over again .. it has to think out of Box .. but I hardly doubt they have the brains to do that considering what they did to my beloved Baa Bahu Baby .. if they could not recognize potential of Baa Bahu Baby , they defintely canot sustain this position

yeh rishta is now gettin back on track...it was boring when she left the house....same with bidaai.....they started the luv track of sadhna and alekh......but now they just ruined it one more time......nd the best serial on starplus rite now is behnein.....luv the storyline!!!!.....ne talkin bout K Serials......even tho all the serials start out fresh but they go the same way....soooo its stupid to argue about them!!1

"Bidaai is the only serial on the history of Indian television which run 3 months an hour with being on top, which shows well that this serial is a way much stronger than any of K-serials......
Once again, it's not question of how many years but who broke this sucess, I hope u get my points, when Kyounki started, there were not many channels, beside this, most of the serials were K-serials, so no way of competition, but today the competition on a high level with so many channels and many productions houses, so no way of comparing........
The difference is very clear, Bidaai is characters driven story, unfortunatly, most of the characters in K-serials are sidelined and the stories are repeated, at first time people can accept it, for being it new, this goes with Kyounki, but with time, they don't accept repeated stories, Bidaai came with new concepts in such situation where there is a big competition, so it's clear which is doing bussiness for Star Plus, both were doing, but in different situations and matters, so no way of comparing about this as well........"

i like ekta's dramas n concept very very much.... the music of her dramas is superb... no one can match it...... i hate star plus.... it has all boring dramas only sasural genda phool is nice.....

ha ha ha...the stupid K serials arent saas bahu serials? wooo made me laugh..ekta kapoor is such a jerk that she doesnt evn realise that we dont like her stuuff with horrifying background music and slooooowwwwwww moving concepts....uuuuuffffff..........wat she did with mahabharat was tremendously ridiculous and disgusting and also wat she did to kis desh was horrifying.... it was nt becoz of star plus bt becoz of kekta that KDMHMD and TSPLS ended so soon as the TRPs fall due to poor concept and the concept was of ekta's responsibility..now wat wud the channel do? they need to prosper na? so ekta stinks and sucks..........hate ekta and i hve boycotted all her shows....love pratigya, bebo and sasural genda phool.... a lot better than ekta's stupid vamp influencing poor conceptual serials..... thnk god star plus is saved frm her now..........
