It's no news that Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki fame Ssharad Malhotra is all set to tie the knot to his fiancee Ripci Bhatia. Ripci is a Delhi based fashion designer and has wooed Ssharad in a way that he finally felt all the right things about marriage.
In a heart to heart chat with Bombay Times, Ssharad shared how he was fearful of the commitment which a marriage asks for and how all of his past relationships ended the moment they graduated to marriage. The actor has now found his new self and is getting hitched in the third week of April.
Talking about how he met Ripci and what led to a change of heart, Ssharad said that when he was introduced to Ripci, he had just come out of a relationship and was going through a difficult phase. Initially, they would just exchange occasional pleasantries on social media. It was only after Ganpati last year that they got talking on the phone, which was after his last relationship ended. What connected Ripci and Ssharad, probably was their fear of marriage, as Ssharad recalls. In fact, Ripci traveled the world for six years to avoid marriage, as the pressure on a girl at her age was mounting.
He said that he too would have loved to do that, too, but he was constantly working. It's only recently that their families got involved after they spoke over the phone for a few days. Both of them instantly realized that this is it and decided to take the plunge. Interesting, right? Coming closer after knowing that the other one is having the same fears.
Ssharad went on to reveal that he and Ripci didn't even date before they decided to marry. Everything happened in an old-fashioned way for them, as they said a yes' without meeting each other much. In fact, she asked him recently why they didn't date before deciding to tie the knot. It just didn't happen.
Since Ssharad Malhotra was in a relationship with television actress Divyanka Tripathi and a few others before her, people always wanted to know what it's like between him and them after the break up. Ssharad opened up about it and said that no relationship can end on a good note. During the courtship period, your partner seems to be the best person on the planet, but when it ends, he becomes the worst.
Recalling his relationships he said that he had never spoken ill about any woman he has dated. He has great regard and respect for them even after the relationship ended. Mutual respect and dignity should be maintained, or else it gets into a loop, with both the parties accusing each other. He said that he doesn't regret any of his relationships. For him, they were awesome till they lasted and even after that. The other person could get venomous, but that's human nature. There is a way for everyone to vent out their feelings. He has learnt a great deal from his relationships and he has also matured with time. The phobia stems from the fact that he has seen bad marriages and witnessed how they fail in an ugly manner.
