Sonakshi Sinha’s brother Kussh finally addresses his absence from sister’s wedding: 'I don’t feel…'

Filmmaker Kussh S Sinha, son of veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha and brother to actress Sonakshi Sinha, is set to make his directorial debut with the film Nikita Roy. Last year, in June 2024, he garnered attention for reportedly not attending Sonakshi’s wedding to her longtime partner, Zaheer Iqbal. This news sparked discussions and curiosity within the entertainment industry and among fans.

During an interview with News18 Showsha, Kussh S Sinha addressed the rumors surrounding his absence from his sister Sonakshi Sinha’s wedding. He clarified that he was indeed present at the wedding, directly contradicting earlier reports. He dismissed the controversy as completely unfounded, aiming to dispel any misconceptions and set the record straight regarding his participation in the event.

“There was a lot of talk about me not attending my sister’s wedding, and honestly, that was fake news," Kussh said. “I don’t know who put out those articles. I had clarified last year itself, I was there. I attended the wedding. That’s all I’ll say on that. She’s my sister, and at the end of the day, I respect and love her," Kussh added.

When questioned about the impact of such controversies, Kussh responded, “Controversies and trolling don’t really bother me. If something isn’t true, it doesn’t affect me. I don’t feel the need to respond to every person taking a shot at me. I value the opinions of my friends and the people close to me, those are the ones I learn from. And yes, I’ve seen my father go through a lot. We’ve learned how to handle this."

Sonakshi and Zaheer tied the knot on June 23, 2024, in Mumbai. They first met at a party hosted by Salman Khan. Zaheer made his debut with Salman’s home production in Notebook. They worked together in Double XL co-starring Huma Qureshi. Together, they also featured in a music video titled Blockbuster. The registered marriage was followed by a reception attended by Bollywood stars like Salman Khan, Huma Qureshi, Rekha, and Kajol.

Their interfaith marriage initially caused controversy, with rumors suggesting family disapproval. Adding to the speculation, Sonakshi’s brothers, Luv and Kussh, were reportedly absent. However, Shatrughan Sinha later clarified the family's support for Sonakshi's decision. “I will support my daughter. I have no reason not to do so. It is their life and their marriage. If they are sure about each other, who are we to be against it? As a parent and father, it was my duty to support her. I have always been with her," he had said.
